We had a lovely relaxing stay here, highly recommend for families with young kids. The buffet breakfast is excellent, so are the dinners. But I really want to that the Fun Team who got to know my girls Violet and Olivia by name, and came up with different fun activities around the pool every day that they really enjoyed. “Perfect Staycation”

We had a wonderful stay, choosing to stay here for the kids activities and proximity to the beach. From the beginning, firstly my interaction with ASHWIN over the phone, she was helpful with my enquiry. My friend checked in first, and she was gushing about how JENNIFER was so kind and welcoming. I arrived later on in the evening. The children enjoyed the kids club so much, everyone was super friendly particularly SOFI. The staff at breakfast were commendable too, always with a smile on their faces despite the high occupancy. When I requested for a late check out the next day, I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer and was surprised she remembered my friend’s and her daughter’s name. That truly sets apart a good employee and an exceptional one. DOUGLAS, the front office manager, did his rounds at the lobby. He is truly personable and it’s obvious that he is an exemplary leader, engaging with guests sincerely. He even gave some plushies to the children personally, even though he could easily have asked any of his subordinates to do so. That was the icing on the cake as my daughter was somewhat disappointed she didn’t encounter Daria and toots during the stay (she met the mascots on our last stay) She was so happy when Daria appeared just as we were about to board our grab car. Other employees who deserve a special mention is MIKHAIL, who did our checkout, so smiley and pleasant to chat with. JOHN so willingly assisted with our luggage. He exudes a quiet demeanour yet so professional in his interaction with us. The technicians that came to our room to fix the Chromecast were very helpful too, despite us calling at around midnight. I didn’t manage to get their names, but we were pleasantly surprised they issued us a coupon for drinks due to the technical issue .. Please convey these compliments to your General Manager as well, he/she should be proud to have an excellent team across the various departments. I didn’t get the names of the boys who were working at the beach, they too were wonderful and so good with handling the overexcited children. Thank you once again for making our birthday weekend an enjoyable one. I must remember to sign up for the Shangri La membership (I don’t know why I haven’t done so haha)

Currently staying at the hotel which is nicely maintained, but it’s not great for couples at all. Not a honeymoon or wedding hotel. The hotel is overrun with children and is very noisy- a mini ‘Universal studios’ type hotel- no joke. The pool has an adult pool area which is a great idea, but this is sadly filled with kids and we have only ever seen the lifeguard enforce this ‘adult area’ once, which is pretty bad considering how much space they have, so be prepared to share this area and hotel with noisy and unruly children. 3 out of the 4 pool areas are already for kids but the kids still want the adult area too and this is very disappointing for a shangri-la hotel. The signs clearly say ‘adults only’ for the adult section, but it’s not enforced and this sadly downgrades the experience and makes it like a theme park hotel! Pointless to have an adult area- might as well be a family hotel only which is what it should be. Great hotel if you have kids though, but this hotel for us comes somewhat short of a 5 star resort- more like a clean 3.5 star hotel that comes with lots of naughty kids. Forget relaxing here it’s just too noisy. Hotel on the whole is generally clean, with signs of general wear and tear for its age, but staff are friendly. Bus shuttle to mall is good but ends early evenings compared to pre covid. Lifts at the hotel are slow here too. Kids play with the buttons so waiting for a lift takes a while! Also, to clarify, the hotel has two monitor lizards here, and peacocks that roam about the swimming pool which are chased by children, so if you like your animals and don’t like seeing this, would avoid coming here. If you want a hotel that has a big pool with kids noises 24/7, and nowhere to relax, this the place for you!
