I recently stayed in this hotel for the 4th time over the past 10 years and I have to admit that it’s one of my favorite hotels. Of course a high Hilton Honors status helps a lot as you get free breakfast (like in any Hilton hotel), access to the pool, free parking and a few free drinks at the bar. The pool is fantastic, the gym is well equipped, it’s a short walking distance to reach the city center, the park right across the street is ideal for kids to play basketball or football. The rooms are spotless clean, modern and well equipped. Breakfast quality has slightly decreased over the years but it’s still very good. Staff is nice, flexible and friendly. Always looking forward to the next opportunity to visit.

We stayed at the DoubleTree in Oradea at the end of June with a very large group (close to 140 people). Not only are the rooms appointed in typical clean Hilton fashion, but the reception employees went above and beyond to make sure our check-in process was very smooth. Given the size of our group, we did not all check-in on the same day. A large portion of the group arrived the first day and Hotel Management and employees made sure we felt welcome. They provided a welcome cookie to everyone that checked-in and the process was very efficient. Patricia Eliza Luca - the Hotel Manager - exceeded expectations when we asked for an area where we could feed everyone. She provided one of the main event rooms and arranged a meal with the kitchen staff for everyone. Menus were provided where people could make individual selections. As groups began arriving from Budapest, food was ready and delicious. Each person received an appetizer, a main dish and a dessert for a comparable cost. It truly made a long day of traveling end on a high note! Bravo to the kitchen team who were very hospitable when we needed to problem solve meals for groups arriving late into the night. Their flexibility and solutions to our requests were top notch. I understand from some in our group that some of the rooms had issues with air-conditioning but the problems were quickly rectified and if they were not able to fix the issue, another Room was assigned efficiently. It happened to be my daughter's birthday during our stay and the hotel provided a cake and balloons amenity that we found when we checked into our room (THANK YOU PATRICIA!!). My daughter was so excited and the cake was divine. We have stayed in other hotel properties while in Oradea, but the DoubleTree was truly the best! Cleanest rooms, friendly employees, and responsive to our needs and requests. We enjoyed our stay and will return!

The bathrooms were well-equipped with a hair dryer, body wash, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. It took us a moment to figure out the shower handles, but we managed eventually. The sheets were clean, and there were plenty of towels and a robe included. One room had a river view, while the other had a balcony overlooking the park, which was lovely. The hallways by the elevators and lobby featured beautiful pictures and artwork. The elevator itself was nice, with full glass offering great views of the river and city. Delicious breakfast. Issues with the room: It was pricey and did not include free access to amenities like the swimming pool, breakfast, or parking, which are typically included in the price at most hotels. We had to pay for everything: $18 per day for breakfast, $12 per day for parking, $18 per entry to the swimming pool area, and $3.50 for a small bottle of water from the mini-fridge. The AC in both rooms didn't work properly. There was no pamphlet in the room to assist guests with how to use the amenities, such as inserting and keeping the hotel key in the slot by the door to turn on the AC and lights, which is not standard in many hotels. Additionally, there was no welcome pamphlet providing information on things to do in the City of Oradea. The restaurant food was not great and was quite expensive for what was offered. The salmon was standard and didn't taste fresh, while the rice was floating in water and tasted plain—the worst rice I've ever had, despite it being easy to prepare. Although we dined at the hotel's restaurant, we were still charged for parking. The concierge never mentioned that parking would be free if we ate there.
