“Great Residence Inn & Staff during 6 day Visit Summer 2023”

We stayed 6/28/23 to 7/3/23 in a 2 bedroom unit with two baths and kitchenette. We chose Chester as it was a great landing spot to visit Richmond, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown, though we did have a rental car & didn't mind driving. Rooms were very clean upon arrival and smelled clean. Kitchen fridge was wiped as was the kitchen area. The furniture is showing some wear as mentioned in other review, but was in very good condition, as were the beds & mattresses. One family member slept on pullout couch and said that pullout mattress was good & not worn thin. We did not have the room serviced by housekeeping during our stay. When we asked for extra towel and blanket, it was provided immediately. The rooms air conditioning unit does blow a tad bit loudly when running, but it did not affect our sleep. The breakfasts were great, we thought, considering the variety offered of hot foods - waffles, oatmeal, a breakfast meat like sausage, small cup quiches, sweet rolls, muffins, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee. There's an outdoor firepit area that was nice. We did not use the indoor pool or hot tub, but seems like the kids visiting this hotel enjoyed it as we saw and heard them having fun. Last, one of the perks of this hotel is its staff. Shout-out here to Phoebe, front desk clerk, you helped us each time; Lerma, the breakfast employee, refilling the food constantly; Nathan, with a wonderful smile, building maintenance/janitorial who was always working on the floors when we saw him; Jennifer, front desk clerk, who helped us with the printer; and Gilbert, the manager, who sent a personal email after we did the Marriott survey. So many hotels have been affected by our time during the pandemic, but this hotel and its staff are on par for the service you'd get pre-pandemic. If you need extra space for your family, this Residence Inn at Chester is recommended.

“Nice Stay”

Stayed here for two nights. Lobby was clean, staff was friendly. Room was decent, A/C worked well. Not a bad location with plenty of locations to eat within a 5 minute walk (including a 24 hour Waffle House). Stayed here for two nights. Lobby was clean, staff was friendly. Room was decent, A/C worked well. Not a bad location with plenty of locations to eat within a 5 minute walk (including a 24 hour Waffle House). Only think I questioned was the lack of scrambled eggs one morning, instead they had some weird hot sauce burrito which someone in our group couldn’t eat due to Acid Reflux. Overall, a great trip.

“A great choice”

We are Marriott members and had booked ahead for a Corner Room with fireplace for our 1 night stay as we headed south. We are Marriott members and had booked ahead for a Corner Room with fireplace for our 1 night stay as we headed south. We were warmly welcomed at the front desk and given a welcome bag of water and chips. The room was lovely--roomy and very clean. We were able to get a bag of ice in the lobby. We did not have a chance to use the pool-- perhaps on our trip back home when we are not is such a rush!
