“Excellent Value”

We spent 2 nights at the Plaza on a stop over in Doha. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station, corniche and main souq. From our comfortable room on the 10th floor we had a good view over the bay. Breakfast did not have a wide choice but was sufficient. There are a pool and sunbeds on the hotel roof. Guests can also use a gym. Although the hotel is not one of the fancier ones in Doha, it is excellent value for money.

“Friendly staff and basic hotel, perfect for a lay over”

I used this hotel as a solo female traveller for four night. It preformed its function and the staff were lovely but I would not want to stay any longer. The staff and restaurant were great but the room didn’t have a comfortable and warm bed and had a cold shower. As I said serves a function and nothing more. Pros Really good gym Nice rooftop tanning deck near the pool Great restaurant with a cheap breakfast buffet under a tenner Good vegetarian menu options (just ask to order from the menu instead) Very friendly staff. Always helpful and willing to go above and beyond Very good maid service with replenishment of hot drinks Large safe in the room which can fit a laptop Key card lifts for safety Cons Cold swimming pool Freezing shower! Probably the biggest con, staff will tell you it heats up after a while, which it does not. This prevents you having a proper wash during your stay Bathroom has paint peeling and some mystery marks in the bath which didn’t give a clean feeling Toilet roll isn’t plentiful or replaced Only two pillows and a blanket on the bed, normally extra pillows and bedding can be found in the wardrobe but not the case here. For comfort and to combat the cold at night it would of been a nice touch

Stayed in from 2 to 10th December as couple. The location is really good near metro station thd national museum 5 mins walk. It's also 12 mins walk to souk wakif. Clean rooms , but have to request any extra from reception each time. We not tried breakfast as we are late waking up after 11 and in doha life is all by night. Customer service good. The swimming pool is at the 11th floor but you have to catch lift 5 which is in car park at the back, I did not bother going swimming as it was bit awkward travelling in swimming suit at the back of building. There is spa service and massage rooms too near the pool. Bathroom available with shower separately, rooms can be bigger with living area too. Fridge very small if you planning to get drinks for morning semi breakfast , does not cool much . Water provided by hotel daily , big 1.5 l bottle free. So keep drinking as its hot here Prices need negotiating as too high for service provided. Creams and products available for sale you better off at local market as prices are three times normal price in local shops. Great tea on reception with dates courtesy if the hotel . Good security system and great service overall compared to price paid need attention to cosmetic in bathroom.
