Sheraton Porto treats status members very, very well. We are Marriott loyalists for many years, and currently Titanium. Our stay was 2 paid nights + 2 points nights and we asked to apply award night certificates to our stay. Prior to arriving, it appeared that the upgrades were possible on the paid nights, but not available for the second two nights. We were happy for the upgrade to the Executive Suite and anticipated having to move rooms after two nights. To our delight, at check-in we were informed we could remain in the suite all 4 nights. So unquestionably, our perspective is based on a fabulous upgrade stay. Since, in our more recent experiences at many Marriott-branded properties, we’ve found upgrades stingy, and award night certificates only valid for improved views, not suites, we were even more delighted with how Sherton Porto managed the rooms and elite members. Sheraton Porto reminds me of the Marriott golden era when the number of elites was smaller, upgrades were easier to obtain and “Award Night Certificates” were “Suite Night Certificates”, and that meant a suite. Platinum and up also get the free full breakfast buffet in the restaurant (not just a continental breakfast) and cocktails in the bar for a couple of hours in the evening. If you can obtain the Executive Suites, they are very nice. Not just a double room with a large bathroom, they are on the 12th floor and have a large balcony with a view of the city. What we liked (beyond the upgrade): - Extremely friendly, helpful staff. All spoke English. - A modern, very clean property. Even normal rooms (friends stayed in one) are large by European standards. - Safe, walkable neighborhood. Grocery store about 3 blocks away. - One of the most diverse breakfast buffets we’ve encountered. Certainly, something for everyone. We’d estimate 60+ items offered. The fresh-squeezed orange juice machine and mimosas seemed popular. - We liked the views from the glass elevators in the lobby. If heights bother you, there is an interior elevator near the bar. Couple other notes: - The location is “suburban”, which was great for us. About a 10 euro Uber to the heart of downtown Porto. - There are fairly limited restaurants nearby. We saw about a half dozen during our strolls. Obviously, the hotel features a very nice dining choice. - We noted underground parking, but didn’t use it. This hotel is a great choice in general, and particularly for Marriott loyalists. We’d definitely return to both Porto and this hotel. Couldn’t be happier with the stay.

The Sheraton is a fantastic option for a stay in Porto. The hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport by taxi. I really liked the design of the hotel, the modern lobby was spacious and filled with pieces of art. Check in was smooth and all of the staff throughout our stay were excellent and particularly friendly towards our 2 year old son. The room was spacious with a nice bed and a big bath tub. The gym was one of the best I have seen in a hotel and the swimming pool in the spa for 20 euros for 24 hours offered a nice way to relax. As a platinum member we were able to enjoy the lounge facility within the bar area - the service is fantastic and there was live music to enjoy each evening with complimentary alcoholic drinks and tapas. The breakfast was vast and I particularly enjoyed the cooked to order omelettes which were excellent. The hotel is around 10 / 15 minutes on public transport to some of the main tourist areas such as Ribieria . On some occasions we used the nearby metro which was simple and other occasions we got an uber which was relatively cheap. The hotel is also conveniently located to public transport to Estadio Do Dragao if you are going to a football game. For us it was a perfect location as our family like to be within close reach to the main tourist attractions but also enjoy the option to retreat to a slightly quieter district at the end of the day. There was a couple of small issues during our stay which was dealt with quickly and effectively by the staff and Andre Costa who took great care in ensuring everything was satisfactory during out stay. I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again

“Pleasant stay”

The hotel is nicely designed and has all the amenities we desired: Spa, quiet rooms, bathtub, close proximity to shops and attractions. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The hotel is nicely designed and has all the amenities we desired: Spa, quiet rooms, bathtub, close proximity to shops and attractions. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The only reason it misses all stars is that it seems the hotel has to keep up with maintenance. The air condition in our room was louder than a Belgian tractor and in the bathroom there was mold in the tile grout. Also, Crowne Plaza next door has a much better restaurant. Sheraton should hire their chef!

Although the hotel is quite a way from the old town, we found it to be very quiet with very good amenities. We left the car in the hotel car park and used Ubers to visit all the old town areas. Because of the heavy traffic it can take quite a while to get around. The rooms were well equipped and very spacious. However, I would warn anyone using the shower to be very careful as it is very slippy. I slipped and fell and now have the bruises to show for it. I was told at reception that this is not the first time it had been reported. Note to hotel - Please do something about it. For a group hotel the food in the restaurant on an evening was excellent. However, although the breakfast was plentiful, the food in the hot section tended to be cold and the coffee was not fresh. On the whole, an enjoyable experience and I would recommend this hotel
