It was good for what my friends and I needed. We were three staying in Porto, Portugal for two nights. We got a room with two double beds and a single bed, and it was spacious. We were actually not expecting much but were very pleased. Our bathroom came with three sets of everything, and it was a god size, not too big or too small. For some reason, everything was unplugged like the fridge and lamps, and I could see that the floor was kind of dusty and it hasn't been deep cleaned but it wasn't too dirty of a room overall. The receptionists were nice, helpful, and spoke multiple languages. They gave us one key for the room, whenever you leave the building you need to give the key to the front desk, and someone is always there. We were right next to the Bolhâo train station which we arrived at from the airport and took back to the airport. The hotel is in a great location for shopping and food, the streets are so picturesque, everything was delicious and beautiful.

“Norte a lot wrong”

Located in an ideal location, right next to a metro and one of Porto’s main shopping streets, the Hotel Do Norte is a low budget resting point bang in the city centre. The reception is very modern and fancy, as is the small bar, which is a facade for a traditional and rather strange building - you need to take the stairs to floor 2, walk along a corridor, then a separate staircase to the higher floors. It’s not by any means horrible, quite well maintained actually, but don’t be fooled by reception. The rooms are likewise traditional but perfectly clean and functional. I’ve seen on here complaints about noise, and I can verify the interior walls are rather thin. I could hear the couple next door being, uh…intimate. The sounds from outside never bothered me though. Overall I’d call it a great value hotel for the money. As a single guy I’d stay there again, unsure if I would if I were in a couple though
