I stayed here for a week and I had a very enjoyabe stay. It was a good base to explore Porto and beyond, I spent 3 full days in Porto itself and 3 days in Braga, Guimaraes, Doura valley, by getting trains from Sao Bento, it was easy to get to from the hotel, the train station itself is a tourist attraction. It is a 15 minute downhill walk to the centre or you can take the nearby metro but it takes around the same time. There is a nearby bus stop too but I didnt use it. The hotel is on a hill but I wouldnt say it is overly difficult to walk up. There is a neaby supermarket Minipreco 5 minutes away. The room was a good size, there is fridge in the room which I didnt notice until I drew back the curtains the following day. Most areas of my room was clean, the only part I noticed that wasnt was the telephone which was very dusty. I dont know if this is the same in all the rooms but in my shower the water drains slowly, and a few times it did overflow onto the bathroom floor. The wifi in my room worked well. The breakfast was excellent, they have a vast array of pastries and cakes including pastel de natas which is what I had most mornings with my cappucinos from the coffee machine. If you dont fancy that they also offer frankfurter sausages, fried egg, omelette, scrambled eggs, bread, toaster, fruit salad, yogurt , cheese, meat slices, jam, cereal, fruit juices. The only issues I had was on the first night there were loud French guests with annoying children in the room next to mine, I had to play loud music to drown them out, luckily they left the next day.

“Very good ”

Good value for money, and nice breakfast. Clean and tidy. Few minutes walk form all the touristic attractions. Staff very welcoming & friendly. The receptionist gave us a free map and few hints in where to go and from where to start.

“An ok hotel”

Old hotel , no lift . clean , good breakfast .A long way up the hill from the center .The price was ok but a taxi was required to and from the center.The area around it has nothing for a tourist .
