Overall, we had a very nice stay at this hotel and think this is a nice alternative to pricier hotels in busier parts of Porto. Our 10th floor rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet even though they were facing a busy highway. We noticed other reviews mentioned construction and there was indeed scaffolding on the front facade of the hotel. However, our room on the 10th floor was higher than the scaffolding and it did not bother us at all. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and we had no issues communicating in English. The hotel is located next to a football stadium. There were no games during our stay, which I suspect could make the surrounding area less quaint. We had no issues getting an Uber into town. An Uber ride to the major attractions cost around 6-8 Euros and took around 15 minutes. Adjacent to the hotel is a large shopping mall with a large Continente supermarket in one of the lower levels. We ate our meals in town and did not get a chance to try any nearby restaurants or the hotel’s restaurant.

Gabriella was so nice when we checked in, and also when we checked out!! She was polite and friendly and that first impression was all that matters... Our suite was on the 11th floor with an open view of the stadium. Super convenient location only 5 minutes walk to the subway station. And next door is a huge mall with McDonald's, and lots of food choices along with a 24 hour pharmacy. Our suite was very large in size...two sinks, two shower stalls and a bathtub, and a bidet. Super clean and bright and spacious. Breakfast was a huge selection of hot and cold selections along with many beverages. Definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. Thank you again! “Decent and Comfortable”
Even though the hotel was relatively comfortable with friendly and helpful staff, the location is quite far from the historic center. However, despite that downside, the metro station is only a few minutes walking, and there is a large mall next door that has restaurants.

Some mixed feelings about this one. I'll start with the positives. This hotel was perfect for a pit stop after a long day of travelling. If you are planning a trip via mainland on coach through Spain to Cascais or Lisbon via Porto then I would recommend you spend your night's rest here. It's conveniently located next to the intermodal Coach station and Campanha train station (5min by Uber or Bolt - walking will take you 25-30min which I wouldnt recommend if you have lots of luggage on you as the pavements are quite elevated!), it's connected to the Alamada shopping centre so you can head over for a bite to eat in the food court and wonder around the shops or supermarket and gets some bits for the onward journey, and the breakfast buffet in the morning is plentiful and set in a nice dining space with views of parts of Porto. To top it off, its also located right in front of Porto's football stadium so if you're interested in Portugal's sports culture then you will have the added bonus of taking pictures with direct views of the pitch without having to go inside. The hotel was quiet, bed was decent, pillows were ok, room was basic and there was just 1 power outlet which is odd. The water pressure in the shower was quite bad, ladies get ready to spend a bit longer in the shower washing out that shampoo! Bring your own conditioner too as the one they provides provides 0 conditioning! I would say the room is more like 3.5 star not 4. The biggest downside to our stay was the fact that my advanced request for a lower floor room couldnt be accommodated despite the fact I made it clear upon booking that I cannot go inside lifts due to claustrophobia and have hip impingement so can't go up too many flight of stairs. I ended up in a lot of pain for several days as they put us on 3rd floor and, considering the floor level doesn't actually reflect the number of stairs we had to walk up (more like double! 3rd floor = 6 flight of stairs), it was brutal. Not disability friendly which is a shame.

We recently stayed at the AC hotel for a long weekend and overall enjoyed ourselves. We were in a room with two twin beds and the pros and cons are listed below: Pros: - Get the breakfast, it's worth the convenience. - The hotel is more or less connected to a mall with a food court and grocery store (Continente) at the bottom which makes access to food very easy - The staff were very helpful in what they could control Cons: - If you get a twin room, as of 26 June, there is construction scaffolding all along that entire side of the building so don't expect much of any sort of view for what there is to see. The hotel is outside of a major highway so there isn't much to look at in the first place. I wish we would've been told about this during checkin and we could've decided if we wanted to keep our type of room or book elsewhere - Other than the mall, there isn't much around the area to see at all. Pretty much all of the major attractions and activities for Porto are located to the south 20 minutes away. Do not stay if you're looking to walk everywhere. - The twin room is extremely small. The beds are less than 5 inches apart and might as well be one bed. - The only storage is the closet and that is limited. Your luggage will likely be in the way, pack light. - The placement of the outlets are strange, one over the mini refrigerator where you can purchase the small snacks or drinks, one underneath the TV on the far side of the room and one next to the bed. For two people it makes it a bit awkward and limiting. - The bathroom door isn't a door at all. There is no latch and has a gap in between all sides. It's essentially a frosted glass swinging door that goes both ways. That being said, there is no real privacy and you can hear and smell everything that goes through that "door". Pack a spray. Overall not a bad stay but for the Porto experience and convenience I would book elsewhere.
