Stayed here for 4 nights. First time visit. We arrived later at night and found the reception was open and the staff friendly and professional. Very easy check in. The room (111) . Nice decor and fittings. Plenty of sockets and charger points. Room was very clean. Beds comfortable. Air conditioning good. Tea and coffee making facilities with complementary water available. ( one coffee sachet, one t bag and few sugars. No milk available) found out next day that water and extra tea and coffee available from hotel bar if you ask staff. Toiletries supplied. Downside to room…. Traffic very noisy. 🙁 plumbing from bathroom made a lot of loud noise during night which disturbed us.🙈 ❌would not recommend staying in this room avoid it if you want a good nights sleep. Maybe a higher room would have been quieter. Bar….. Staff very friendly and professional. Bruno definitely an asset to the hotel. Excellent barman, nothing was any bother to him. Very attentive and even remembered our drinks the next night! We did not use the restaurant on our stay here as we were out every day. Area… Safe and bustling. Plenty roadside cafes for coffee and snacks. People very friendly. Enjoyed exploring area around hotel. Lots of old building which are stunning. Cobbled streets (pack comfortable trainers with good grip be aware of broken and uneven pavements) supermarket 5 mins from hotel. Staff… reception Always available. Maps and information provided. Helpful doorman. Room was cleaned daily. Transport... Although we had the metro nearby we decided to try Uber for our journey to the hotel from the airport. Good decision. Booked online when we landed. Great service would highly recommend them. The online app was easy to use, giving time of arrival, name of driver, description of car, how to get to pick up point and price which was very reasonable. 15 min journey through heavy traffic to hotel cost £14 euros. After this we used uber for all our trips around Lisbon. Our trip to Lisbon was mainly to visit the Stadium National where Glasgow Celtic FC won the European cup in 1967. We are both avid Celtic fans and my husband wanted to visit the stadium before it was renovated later this year. We again used Uber for our journey there and back. Around 6 euros each way. Had a brilliant afternoon there. The staff were friendly and helpful. The security guard allowed us to visit the dressing rooms and gave us access to all areas except the grass and track which were being renewed. We took lots of photos around the stadium and enjoyed every minute of it. ⚽️💚 A taxi ride for 5 euros took us to the beautiful Alfama district. What a place. Authentic narrow cobbled streets taking you uphill all the way to the Castle. Busy area with side street cafes, little quaint shops, restaurants and a lot of walking. You can also take bus or Tuk Tuk (original and fun transport) to the top of hill and walk down if you prefer. There is so much to see and do in Lisbon we will need to visit again. The restaurants are plentiful, reasonable and most can be booked online. We especially enjoyed Gurkha Sao Bento Indian restaurant about 10 min walk from our hotel. Reasonably priced, staff attentive and friendly. The meal was delicious. If you’re in the area give it a visit.
