Lovely hotel is good location for Lisbon, near to the metro. Room was lovely and clean and the reception staff were very friendly, While we were away it was my husbands birthday and the hotel presented him with a bottle of port, lovely touch! Waiting staff at breakfast were really nice, and there was a good selection of food on offer.

“Great City Hotel”

Good location near the metro and main roads. Rooms a bit dated, but serviceable. Honesty Bar a nice idea. The reception personnel were efficient. Do note that there are stairs to the front door and one to the elevators. The elevators are small. There is air conditioning for a hot Lisbon summer.

We had booked 2 nights in the Dom Carlos Park, as we were seeing a concert on the 2nd evening there which finished late. We checked into the hotel around 6.50pm on the Saturday evening and the staff were pleasant, friendly and welcoming. It was easy to find the room, and everything was very clean inside. The room was fairly small for 2 people, but it had all the necessities for a few night's stay. Considering it was so centrally located, there was not any road noise/disturbance from outside, with minimal construction work. The metro station is just a 2 minute walk away and it is easy to reach different areas of Lisbon. Inside the room, there was a safe, cupboard and fridge which contained drinks (for a slight extra charge). I think the highlight of the hotel was the breakfast buffet. There was a really great selection of food (cooked/continental of Portuguese style) and it was open for a considerable time (up to 11.30am) - plenty of variety and a good ambience. Moreover, the reception staff safely stored our bags on the final day after checking out to collect later in the day - and were helpful in showing us where the toilets were located. I'd recommend Dom Carlos Park to anyone staying in Lisbon for several days.

We have stayed at the sister hotel Dom Carlos Liberty several times in the past and decided to try the Park. We stayed at the beginning and end of our trip. Each hotel has its strong points. Here we arrived before check in and it was no problem to leave our bags which were later placed in our room. The breakfast room is smaller than at Liberty but has the same good selection. Some nearby construction made it a little noisier. There is some green space opposite the hotel which is pleasant. There was better storage space in our room, and some slight difference in bathroom configuration. Having two elevators is a plus, and traffic outside is much quieter than the frantic pace in front of Liberty, especially at rush hour!
