A very nice hotel. Rooms are pretty spacious and room servicing is consistent and well done. The breakfast is an absolute feast - amazing array of very high quality food and superb service. Amenities are plush - pool, sauna, etc. Location was good for us - relatively near the city but out of the tourist zoo.

“Charming hotel with excellent service”

What a great hotel. We booked on the day due to a mishap with our other booking- arriving 15 mins after having made the booking and explaining our rather stressful morning Rita was absolutely delightful and offered us our room straightaway at 11am even though check in wasn’t until 3pm. All staff were so friendly and helpful- I really wouldn’t have expected this from such a big hotel. Both swimming pools were excellent- the spa very relaxing, and the rooftop pool more for a bit of brisk exercise in October. The room was great- modern, large and comfortable; breakfast was very very good. A light lunch and a drink in the bar was equally very good. Hotel is walking distance for everything and you could Uber if you preferred. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely weekend- and especially to Rita for such a warm welcome.

“Not up to 5*…. Just be aware”

Real disappointment…. We are frequent travellers and come to Lisbon twice a year. Having visited the same time last year and to this hotel, we decided to come again. Real disappointment…. We are frequent travellers and come to Lisbon twice a year. Having visited the same time last year and to this hotel, we decided to come again. What happened epic sana? 1) the pool. Although the very same time as last year, is kind of shut. Kind of because there is no service there, pool is not heated. Why? Because apparently it is out of season. Well it wasn’t out of season last year and we are sitting in 23 degree sunshine? We were advised by receipt that we could order and would get some level of service but that was not true and we have had to go out to the supermarket to get refreshments etc 2) breakfast… I waited almost 40 mins today for a plate of mushrooms, asked for 3 times. I have started to order two cups of coffee when I order as it takes so long to get one! And when one turns up, although it’s a latte it mights well be an espresso it’s that small! 3) the room… really tired, chips and marks on furniture which you would not expect given it’s a 5 star hotel. Incredibly disappointed- when you book 5 star and pay the price you expect it to be that. Next April we will not book here and have started now to look elsewhere

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Epic Sana and I have to say it left me feeling a little underwhelmed. There was nothing wrong with the hotel or location but that little extra that you pay for was missing . After we checked in we realised that we had no clue where breakfast was or what time it was , in fact we just given a key and pointed towards the lifts . We then tried to access the hotels app as way to see what facilities the hotel had . This needed a code , we rang reception and they said they couldn’t provide a code (they didn't say why) , technical problems ? The day after we went to use the hotel’s pool and loungers on the roof. There were no cushions and no-one about to ask , I went downstairs and the chap at reception seemed a little bit annoyed that I was asking and just said he would do his best ! 20 mins later and staff were despatched to distribute cushions to ourselves and other guests wanting to use the facilities, they were clearly not happy about doing this . The day after all the plugs failed in our room. They did repair it quickly though whilst we were out . The rooms do seem a little tired as well , we had an empty minibar and a weird TV set up that in the end wasn’t worth the effort of turning on. All of these are minor issues and we still had a great time in a pretty city . But for what it costs to stay at the hotel it’s just lacking those little extras. There are some positives though, the waiter who looked after us at breakfast was brilliant, but he was clearly overwhelmed with the amount of tables he had to cover, I don’t know if the hotel were short of staff but if I’m to stay with them or any of the hotels in the chain then they need to up their game .
