The location of the hotel is excellent. Very close to 2 subway stops on 2 different lines. So many attractions are within walking distance. The reception people were very friendly and check-in was well done. We asked for a late checkout and they kindly provided one. We had a superior double room. The layout of our room was a bit more spacious than other similar rooms. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet though on a main street. It did have robes, slippers and bathroom toiletries including individual soap. Nice that not all hotels have moved to bottled soap and shampoo. It had a turndown service so you get a nice piece of chocolate in the evening. The breakfast buffet was ok, not a big selection of items. The breakfast room was nice and had an outdoor section. The service was excellent. It would be nice if the tv had additional services like Netflix, Youtube etc. Just standard global news channels with a couple of movie channels but no selection, just whatever is playing at the time. Overall, very satisfied with our stay.

We stayed for 5 Nights in Oct. Would have liked a slightly larger room. Room was a little dark and cramped with twin beds, the bathroom and shower were lovely. The staff were all friendly and very helpful and efficient. The breakfast was excellent and catered for all tastes. It is a shame there is no evening restaurant for guests to have dinner in the evening, we would have dined in if we could.

“Good Location”

We recently stayed here for 6 nights. Location: excellent - Metro right outside and the main station across the road. You can buy a daily ticket which includes metro trams and buses for 6.80 euros. It also includes some attractions like Santa Justa lift. When you initially buy the card you pay 50 cents after that you can just top up the card daily in the machine. If you want to go further afield like Sintra you need to go to the main station and buy a ticket to include the overhead trains for 10.80 euros. Hotel: the hotel is quite small and so are the rooms. We booked a superior room and found it quite cramped. They don't seem to have double beds they are twin beds. The bedding is so tight you can't really move much. The pillows were not very comfortable either. There is an Nespresso coffee maker in the room which we did not use. However we did use the kettle for tea they only supply two little milk pods so if you wanted two cups each you would have to contact housekeeping which for a 5* hotel seemed crazy to me. Bottled water is supplied in the room and you can ask reception for more. The shower is excellent very powerful however for a 5* hotel the towels looked old and rough. The bathroom was very small and the toilet was behind the door so it was a bit of a squeeze to get in there you had to close the door to use the toilet. There was a mini bar in the room but as usual prices were ridiculous. Breakfast was ok but the hot food was very repetitive and not much changed from day to day with other items. Service and staff were excellent. I would say the bit that stands out for the hotel is the location. A lot of the attractions are walkable but walking around all day is very tiresome. The pavements are filled with tiny tiles which are very uneven and when it rains very slippery. The hills are very steep with lots of stairs to negotiate. Unfortunately with most cities in Europe now it is plagued with beggars and migrants selling stuff. Also people trying to get you into restaurants all of which spoil the atmosphere. It is not a city we would consider revisiting. Our preference would be eastern Europe - Prague, Krakow, Budapest. We find them more appealing to the eye and cleaner.
