The Pousada de Beja is located in the old Convent of São Francisco in the city of Beja, in Alentejo. Located in the city centre just 700 metres from the castle and 200 metres from the Rainha D. Leonor museum. The Pousada is the result of a majestic, architectural project that is representative of Portugal's religious and gothic architecture.
In the old central nave of the Pousada, guests can, from time to time, visit contemporary art exhibitions. Enjoy and take a stroll through the wide corridors connecting the monks' old cells with an inviting view of the pool and the fantastic gardens. During the summer, come and swim in the fantastic pool and stroll through the gardens.

“Spend more than one night!”
Pousada Convento Beja is a great stopover place when visiting the Alentejo area, that covers 1/3 of Portugal! A quaint town too, with local life around every corner. The pool is fabulous, biiiiig breakfast! Peaceful and with an interesting history and its own gothic chapel! Highly recommended!

Wonderful hotel - quiet and serene! Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful - especially the restaurant staff who did their best to improve my very poor Portuguese! “Beautiful converted convent”
We really enjoyed our stay. The facility is beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful and the site peaceful. The breakfast buffet was very nice. We didn’t try the restaurant for dinner, maybe next time! The review needs to have a minimum of 200 characters. I guess I’m not very wordy.
