Two nights stay to visit the Christmas Market. We were very impressed with this hotel, the size of the room was incredible! And that view was just so lovely that I spent the time in the hotel looking out of the window! The room and bathroom was very well equipped with most of what we needed, appreciated the bottles of water too. As we were spending 2 nights did not expect the room to be refreshed with bed made and fresh towels etc but it was, cleaners did a very good job. Two tiny, tiny criticisms, need a bin in the room and for some reason the TV had no remote.....but it was all great, we even had snow making it more special. Would love to return.......

This hotel is located just outside of the old town and can be reached by taking the airport bus to the centre and then a single tram out. It's located close to the river and many of the rooms have a river view. You are also close to the Tumski bridge, cathedral island and the illusion museum as well as on a direct tram line to the zoo and concert hall. Staff were friendly and check-in and check-out was fast and simple. Its function room and restaurant are clearly popular with weddings and other such events so don't be surprised if there are lots of people about. There are two versions of rooms - those that have been refurbished (like the initial photos) and those that have not and retain the original decor from when the hotel was built about 25 years ago. It is a big hotel so renovation is clearly going to take some time so you are more likely to get one of these rooms. They are clean and well maintained but dated (look through the room photos and you will see). Reasonably priced though and minibars in rooms with sensible prices i.e. not the corner shop but not rip-off either.

This hotel is rated at 4 stars, but I think that 3 stars would be enough. There are many things that should be improved, and one of them would be the attitude of the staff, starting from the reception to the one in the restaurant. There is a lack of empathy and the pleasure of welcoming guests, and the fact that many of the employees do not know English or do not want to speak is not a very pleasant thing. The staff at the reception seemed really bored and lacked the desire to help. Also, the lack of a transfer service from the airport weighed heavily in my assessment.
