I stayed at the MDM Hotel Warsaw, 1 place Konstytucji, Poland for 3 nights between June 25 and June 28. Everything about this hotel was amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I liked this hotel for its location, cleanliness, room size, amenities, comfort, courteous service and reasonable price. Room: I booked a deluxe room which was on the 5th floor, room 516, with a view of the city. This is a corner room on the top floor of the hotel. I liked the room for its size, layout, amenities, bathroom, and bedding. Our room had a view of the city plaza which was pleasing to the eye and photogenic during the day and especially at night. Some reviews I read complained about the traffic and streetcar noise. I heard a bit of noise from the streetcars but not from the car traffic and, I have to say, it didn’t bother me at all. But after all, the hotel is in the heart of the city so a bit of street noise is expected. The deluxe room had a bedroom with a door, sitting room and business area with a desk, and most importantly, air conditioning, which was handy as it was very hot in Warsaw during our stay. The room was modern and all the amenities were in great working order. There was free wi-fi in the room as well. The room even had a mini fridge to keep food or drinks cold. There is a TV in the room with several Polish, English and other languages channels. I couldn’t have asked for a better room. The hotel lobby is smaller than a typical hotel, does not have a bar or a restaurant which did not bother me as the lobby was never crowded and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and coffee shops in the area outside of the hotel. Hotel staff: Everyone at the hotel was welcoming, courteous and willing to help. I wish I wrote down reception staff names to acknowledge them here. Room cleaning service was excellent as well. Restaurants and food near the hotel: There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants near the hotel. We ate two nights at the U Szwejka restaurant adjacent to the hotel. It serves traditional Polish dishes. Be careful when ordering Golonka. Minimum order is 1.2 kg which it’s too much for 2 people. We couldn’t finish it but were able to take leftovers to the hotel room and finish the next day, thanks for the in-room mini fridge. One comment: the fridge was not very cold and I didn’t bother asking the staff if I needed to adjust its temperature somehow. On the side of the hotel entrance is a coffee shop – Green Caffe Nero - which is always busy but serves great coffee, opens early, closes late and has plenty of seating inside and outside. I recommend getting breakfast with your room booking. The food and drinks choices worth the price. Location: The hotel location is exactly what we needed: plenty of public transit (street cars, busses) right outside the hotel to take you anywhere you want. We used the streetcar to go to the old city and to the POLIN museum. The hotel is a walking distance to Srodmiescie (downtown) and Centralna train station, where the Culture and Science Palace is located. The shopping mall which stays opened late is also located there as well. While walking from the hotel to the Central train station, you’ll encounter a lot of restaurants and coffee shops as well as small grocery stores. The popular corner/grocery store is called Zabka which can be found, it seems, on every corner and has drinks, snacks, bread and some choices of sandwiches and salads. Behind the hotel is a charming church and more coffee shops and restaurants. I’m giving MDM Hotel Warsaw top rating and, unless someone is super picky, this hotel everything one needs, and the room prices are reasonable.
