What a wonderful hotel. Lovely reception staff when we arrived, and really helpful room service. The bed was super comfortable. The spa is gorgeous. Pool is H-shaped, so you can normally find a quiet corner or have a little dip (it's more of a relaxing swim than a lap pool). The steam room was wonderful and the gym was the perfect size. Cracking stay. Brilliant location right by the main old square.

“Fantastic hotel and location”

Hotel absolutely wonderful. Great location. Service excellent and rooms a great size. Breakfast good able to provide gluten free too. Didn’t use the spa but good excuse to come back which we will. The only negative I could find on this fab hotel is the airport transport was poor the driver lost h... more

The only negative I could find on this fab hotel is the airport transport was poor the driver lost her car in the car park and then dropped us off at wrong place

“Close to the lovely architecture and restaurants.”

A pleasant room facing the road with plenty natural light. No 318. I had phoned a few days before our arrival and the receptionist confirmed we would have tea making facilities in the room. This wasn’t the case but we were supplied with a kettle and cups quickly when we asked for them. Very good shower, bed made every day by pleasant staff who always left chocolates. Leisure facilities are good and as seen on the website. We didn’t eat here. Only niggle and I suppose it is an old building, in the evenings Silverfish bugs were on the bathroom floor and scuttled under the sink wall (except the few I stamped on!) No relaxing lounge to use for reading but some small chairs in reception. We enjoyed our visit to beautiful Krakow and the hotel is just off the edge of the main square.

We stayed at Hotel Stary for three nights in July. We were in Krakow with family, altogether three rooms were stayed in. Check in went smoothly, and two of our group were in rooms in the "newly renovated" wing of the hotel, and the other couple in the main part of the hotel. Nothing about the "newly renovated" rooms appeared to be renovated. The rooms were awkwardly laid out. The nightstands, beds, and armchairs are indeed extremely short as noted in other reviews. I am only 5 feet tall and it was inconvenient for me, I can't imagine how much more so for someone of average height. The outlets are not convenient to charging devices, the rooms are very dark and the view is of a courtyard with a building which appears to have been abandoned mid construction. While the rooms are dark in the afternoon, the drapes are not blackout so despite being closed, the sun and the birds chirping, which echoes in the courtyard, will wake you up around 4:00 every morning. I recommend earplugs and a sleep mask. The front desk responded quickly and politely to a request for more pillows (they are all very flat) and a kettle for making tea/coffee in the room. The breakfast was included in our room rate the first night and it was decent, but is extremely overpriced. Recommend purchasing breakfast at a cafe, there are many nearby, at a fraction of the price. Every room our family booked was differently laid out. Our room had a bidet and a large bathroom. Another room had one room for the toilet and sink and then a shower around a corner with no door in the actual room, and no bidet. The nicest room was in the "not renovated" main part of the building. I recommend asking for a room in that part of the building if you stay here. There was nothing really wrong with the hotel, but nothing really great about it. Nothing about the room seemed designed with the comfort of the guest in mind, more for the overall style they were hoping to achieve. We will stay somewhere else when visiting this lovely city again.
