As a solo traveller abroad for the first time I was somewhat apprehensive, but thanks to Martyna's patience answering my numerous questions before I set off, all went almost perfectly. Great hotel & location in the Jewish Qtr, v friendly & helpful staff. Just a short 15/20 min walk to the Old Town Square. Numerous bars & restaurants in the Jewish Qtr nearby this hotel, definitely recommend Starka for a quality meal. Restaurant next door to the hotel, then a bar, then a place for breakfast (Cytat Cafe), all of which I tried, so you don't have to wander far if you don't want to!

“Lovely quirky place! ”

Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Our room was quite basic but it was all we needed for our one night stay. We were allowed to keep our bags at reception until our flight later on for no extra charge. Breakfast was included which was gresh and tasty. Would stay again!

We were very excited about our first trip to Krakow and we arrived on the 13th August for 3 nights as a surprise birthday treat from my family to myself. We did advise that we would be there between 3-4pm but before 4pm we were being called by the receptionist to see where we was, luckily we was across the road, but it did make us feel a little bit rushed. The building is very clean, decorated beautifully quirky and we were looking forward to see our room as we had particularly chosen this accommodation as we wanted somewhere with a lot of character. We were told we was in newly renovated room 22 which was allllllllll the way to the top of the building and not the room we had booked, it was spacious and very clean, bright but quite bland, lacking character and did not have the large shared balcony that we wanted as outside space is important to us. Instead, it was a Juliet balcony. The room had a few other niggling disappointment’s, no safe, only three coat hangers, no body wash or conditioner, no ironing facilities and no blinds on the bedrooms velux windows, which meant the light shinned in anything from 4.45am to 5am which isn’t great at all. By the time we had noticed all these faults the receptionist had gone home. When mentioned to the receptionist the following morning all we got was an apology. We were not told the WiFi password on checking in so cannot comment on how well that worked. Breakfast was a selection of interesting choices from a menu that you could select one option plus a buffet of small bread rolls, croissants or cake, yoghurt, fruit juice and you could have unlimited tea or coffee. The location was great, central to the Jewish Quarter within walking distance to the Old Town and surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants to suit all food choice’s plus supermarkets. We was very disappointed that when we checked in the receptionist told us that if we was going out for the day or had an early check out that if we let them know the day before reception closed then a breakfast bag could be made up for us, we did approach the receptionist at 2.30pm the day before leaving, only to be told that the staff had left so it was not possible for us to have one. Not the best start to the long travelling day ahead of us. All in all we love Krakow and the location of the hotel but the negative points mentioned did slightly spoil my birthday treat.
