“Adequate for a short stay”

I stayed at this hotel for 2 non-consecutive nights with a stay on Taquile Island in between. It was ok on the inside, nothing special and maybe slightly dated. It's in a good location one block away from the main pedestrianised street with many shops, bars and restaurants. My room was on the large size which was nice, and it was slightly dated but nothing too bad. My bed was comfortable and there was an extra blanket as well as the usual sheet and blanket, I stayed here in the Peruvian winter and it was very cold at night so the extra blanket was needed. There was no central heating but they did provide a portable heater on request. It took the edge off the cold but it didn't do that much. The bathroom was ok, I had some issues with the hot water but nothing that didn't resolve itself in the end. A couple in the same group as me had an issue with their shower head which was dealt with when they mentioned it to the reception. For the second night, we'd just stayed in a farmer's house on Taquile Island on Lake Titicaca the night before which had no electricity or washing facilities, so this place felt like luxury afterwards! The breakfast was nothing special, some fruit, bread, toast, juices and hot drinks. There was no hot food which we did miss as it was quite cold in the morning too. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere cheap and fairly decent for a couple of nights in Puno.

We stayed here on a group tour, the night before our trip to Tequile Island, and everything was adequate. Our room was dated, but there were enough bedcovers, so we were warm at night and our shower was hot. Wifi only worked for us at reception, and the people at reception were very helpful, and let us use the safe when we went to Tequile Island. The hotel is located in a very busy part of town, and in the evening we went to a restaurant just around the corner which was really good. One of our group had very bad altitude sickness, and stayed on in the hotel after the rest of us had left. The staff really looked after her. However, most of us were fine, as we had had three nights to break up the climb - 2 nights in Arequipa and one night in Chivay - I was very glad of that as I had been concerned about getting altitude sickness. We enjoyed the breakfast - including fantastic avocados, which made lovely bread rolls!

Stayed for 2 separate nights. The rooms are clean but be aware the hotel has no heating so with it being winter it was very cold at night- the receptionists wear coats! It can have noise during the day as next door to a school. This was our first night at altitude after Lima and staff were very helpful at 6am in morning when I needed oxygen for 5 minutes to relieve altitude sickness which they keep on site
