Located in the capital and the most populated city of the Republica de Paraguay. It is an autonomous municipality administered as Capital District and is not formally integrated to any department. It is located next to the Bahia de Asuncion, on the left bank of the Paraguay River, opposite the confluence with the Pilcomayo River. Founded in 1537, it is one of the oldest cities in South America. The figures given by the General Directorate of Statistics, Surveys and Censuses (DGEEC) for the year 2016 estimate a population of approximately 525 294 inhabitants, bordering on the south and east with the Central Department; and to the north and west with the Paraguay River, which in turn separates it from the Department of Presidente Hayes (to the north), and from the Argentine Republic (to the west).

“Nice hotel”
The Hotel Bristol offers nice and clean rooms in a good location in the center of Asunción including breakfast. I enjoyed my stay there and liked it for the given price. However, what I didn't like is that the AC was very loud and that you could hear every word spoken in the neighbor rooms.

“Old city style in a good location”
Asuncion is a bit dingy and run down in places but the Bristol is clean and neat with good sized rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast is really good hot and cold and plenty of fruit. Walking distance to the Rambla along the waterfront and some nice eating places nearby too. Not much English spoken b… more

“good location”
A nice, clean, basic hotel in a good location to explore the historical part of ascuncion. Good buffet breakfast and freevwifi.Try not to get a room at the front of the hotel which can be quite noisy until late

“Always anticipate your Expectations”
It corresponds in all aspects to expecations. Of course it is not a 5-star hotel (and I reviewd Sheraton as well), so one needs to adapt to the expectation of what is being booked and offered. “Small, centrally located......good value.”
The Hotel Bristol is a small, clean, economical hotel in the Zona Cental of Asuncion. It is not over-encumbered with amenities but if you need simple accommodations for a fair price in downtown this is a good choice. Very helpful staff.
