“Great experience, but tricky to find through GPS”

My wife, mother and I stayed here when we arrived in Stavanger. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. When my mother forgot a piece of clothing when we checked out, the staff graciously retrieved and returned it - many thanks! The breakfast which is included as part of the stay is extensive and delicious - Norway takes breakfast way more seriously than the U.S..... Our only challenge during our stay was actually finding the hotel - we were driving a car, and both the Tesla and Android GPS systems guided us to a location that seemed massively incorrect - we ended up in what looked like a church's parking lot. Well, it turns out, it WAS a church's parking lot, and unfortunately, there isn't any signage which makes it clear you're actually right behind the hotel. It felt wrong, and we ended up driving around in confusion for a while before a phone call to the hotel put us right. What travelers with a car should know is, park in the church parking lot (if there's space), then walk down the hill and enter the hotel. It'll feel wrong, but you're in the right place. Another caveat for U.S. travelers - the Scandic hotels seems to consistently use a system for controlling the room lights which require you to put your room key into a slot; when properly installed, the room lights and electrical outlets will work as expected - remove the room key, and everything goes dark. If you're expecting to leave devices charging when you leave the room, make sure you get two room keys, so that one can be left in the slot. It's an interesting system - not sure what the logic is behind it, but it was confusing the first time we encountered it.

“Good hotel, great location”

The hotel is good, location great in the city center and near the station. Personal is friendly. Rooms are relatively big, beds are good, bathrooms good. Rooms are ok, some are getting a bit tired although still good enough.

“Big rooms - poor cleaning”

Big room given the price and great location. Friendly staff. But the room was not properly cleaned. Wardrobe was falling apart and the electric system in the room, although in good condition, were not very practically rigged.

Trip to Stavanger mitt my two boys. Stayed here for two nights. Not very impressed with the staf at this hotel.
