“Excellent Hotel - Location, rooms, staff”

Excellent hotel! comfortable room, nice breakfast and dining room and wonderful staff. Location is also great - central and very close to tram stations, or walking distance to several key places (did both). All in all I will definitely return!

The people working at the hotel were really service-oriented and altogehter I had a good stay. Probabily I will choose this hotel again, as it is well located. The room was good and I felt welcome, the breakfast could have been solved slighthly more elegantly, but I found a variety of (healthy and natural) foods I enjoyed. This would deserve 4 stars... However, why the rating is lower: What I dislike, and I dislike this within the entire industry, is that the employees are not allowed to sit whilst tendng the reception. Obviously, this is a health hazard om the long run. Also: imagine having to regularly stand for 8 hours or more, even at night... Personally, I would not like it at all. This is customary in all major hotels in Norway, but even though it looks propper and aestehtically pleasing, I see it as bad treatment of employees. If employees are treated like this, I am wondering what the attitude towards the guest is... Good business culture would be in my oppinion to treat both the customer and the employee right, with respect and fairness, and their best in mind... I so wish service culture wouldn't mean futile sacrifice!

Pros - Great location for shopping and dining - Breakfast buffet with a variety of options - Shared lounge area on the 2nd floor for relaxing or socializing - Sufficiently equipped gym for a normal workout - Free hot drinks available from coffee machines in the lobby and lounge area Cons - Standard rooms are extremely small, making it difficult to move around comfortably - Cleanliness is not up to par, with dust on surfaces and questionable hygiene in the bathroom - Rooms along the busy road are very noisy due to pedestrian and trolley traffic, which may disturb light sleepers - No USB charging options in rooms, only standard EU electric outlets, so an adapter is necessary for those with non-EU electronics. Room Size and Comfort The standard rooms are tiny, so small that movement in the shower is constricted and knees may touch the door when using the toilet. Cleanliness Cleanliness is not to a high standard, with dust on surfaces throughout the room. After walking around the room for a few minutes in black socks, the soles were dusted white and spotted with debris. Bring slippers to avoid this issue. Under the toilet seat, there was wet body hair. The towels also had a musty smell. Noise Levels Rooms located along the busy road are quite noisy with constant sounds of pedestrians and electric trolleys. Light sleepers should request rooms away from the road to ensure a good night's sleep. Amenities The hotel offers a shared lounge area on the 2nd floor that is perfect for enjoying take out meals or meeting with other guests. The gym is sufficient for a normal workout and has several pieces of equipment and room for multiple people. Coffee machines in the lobby and the lounge area offer free hot drinks.

“Bad sound isolation from the gym…”

Stayed here for 3 days. Very nice hospitality an hosts. But also for 3 days someone decided to run on treadmill in the gym for 2 hours… between 8.30 pm til 10.30… you will here it though the walls and the ventilation system… I told the staff but there was nothing to do because of a fully booked hot… more

But also for 3 days someone decided to run on treadmill in the gym for 2 hours… between 8.30 pm til 10.30… you will here it though the walls and the ventilation system… I told the staff but there was nothing to do because of a fully booked hotel. But sweet of the girl in the reception who would have rebooked me for another room if there was enough space. I think the hotel need to close the gym a little earlier or do some sound reduction on the treadmill on their gym….
