The hotel and room was not new but quite big, enough space for family. We arrived 2,5 hours before actual check in and since room was already cleaned, the staff allowed us to go to our room. It was very nice

I liked my 4-night stay at the hotel and have just a few of minuses to mention. First of all, the hotel has a very good location in a quiet area of Oslo. The distance to the heart of Oslo is easily walkable. There is a grocery shop one block away from the hotel, and there are also some cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel’s building is slightly outdated, and some parts of it definitely need to be renovated. For example, the elevators were very old, tiny, and slow. However, the entire hotel was very clean throughout my stay. My check-in was fast and easy, and all the front desk staff were very nice and friendly to me. In general, I find Scandic chain staff, no matter where in Europe, to be very professional, extremely nice, and polite. I submitted a pre-arrival request for a room on a high floor with some city view, and they followed my requests, assigning me a nice room. My Standard Room with 2 Twin Beds (#590) was a perfect size for one person, basic but pretty designed, and ideally clean. All the furniture was in good condition. I loved the big panoramic window, which let in a lot of natural daylight. It was also possible to open part of the window to let fresh air into the room, which I appreciated. The room had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The only minus for me was the small closet, which couldn’t fit much stuff. I wish it were bigger. The Twin beds were very comfortable, and I really liked the blankets - they were soft and a pleasure to be covered with. Unfortunately, the bathroom was very tiny. The sink was small, and the toilet was right next to the shower stall. However, the shower stall itself took up almost half the bathroom, and it was comfortable to use. The bathroom amenities were standard Scandic brand products and of very good quality. The Wi-Fi worked very fast throughout my entire stay. The biggest problem with my room was the door lock, which did not work properly. Every time I left the room, the door did not lock automatically. I had to close the door, use my room key, open it for a second, and then close it again for it to lock. That was very weird. Also, the room was not very soundproof, unfortunately. I could hear some noises from the hallway, even though my room was away from the elevators and in the corner. I also want to mention the very good breakfasts. There were many food options at the buffet, everything was fresh and tasty, and there was a good variety of drinks. The waiters did an excellent job serving people and cleaning tables right after guests left. The restaurant area was very spacious and accommodated a lot of people. To finish my review, I want to mention the price I paid for my stay - approximately $158 per night. Honestly, I find this slightly overpriced for the generally basic quality of the hotel. I feel like the price for a Standard Room should not be more than $100 per night. However, to be fair, this Scandic was one of the cheapest hotels in Oslo for the dates of my trip, so it still felt like a good deal compared to other hotel prices. I absolutely recommend Scandic Solli for a stay in Oslo. If you’re not looking for a fancy luxury hotel but want to spend your vacation or business trip in comfort, this hotel is the right option for you.

“Good Hotel in probably the best area of Oslo”

A good hotel near Solli place. Walking distance to lot great Restaurants and near Aker Brygge with its eateries at the Oslo pier. The hotel staff is very accommodating, and the breakfast buffet is excellent. The rooms are not the biggest but sufficient. Good value for money.
