As part of a bus tour I cannot speak to the value of this hotel. There had been a mix up in the booking process and since that involved 37 rooms it could have been a disaster, however the hotel staff worked it all out, and with only a short delay we were all accommodated, so kudos to them. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the bathroom modern. The bar at the top of the hotel offered wonderful views - even in the rain. The hotel is centrally located, in fact only about 2 blocks from the royal palace. The breakfast buffet was great, with both European and North American food choices.

The hotel is in a good location , not all the staff were friendly, the check person was abrupt is I asked a question, she was having a bad day apparently

As part of a Viking cruise extension from Bergen to Oslo, we were booked here instead of the previously advertised more expensive Thom Hotel Opera. There are two Radisson Blu hotels in Oslo. The other one (Plaza) is better. This Radisson Blu (Scandinavia) is next to the central train station which is connected to a large shopping complex. Security must be a problem because to get to our rooms we had to punch in our floor number then swipe our room card to get one of the elevator doors to open. Usually, it was the elevator furthest away. To get off our floor for breakfast on the 2nd. floor or go to the lobby we had to punch in 2 or lobby and swipe the room card again to get an elevator door to open (the farthest one). No need to exercise in the pool, just keep swiping and running from elevator to elevator. Guest room doors open out into the hallway. There is a small step up into the bathroom. Pay attention. My 16th floor room had a view over the train station roof. The cavernous lobby of this hotel is not just dark, it is black, both walls and ceiling. So are the washrooms. A grouping of huge white globe lights dangling from the ceiling do not dispel the gloom. And those secure elevators are down a dim hall off the lobby. Flip on the flashlight on your phone. There was a small bar serving pizzas (good ones) off that elevator hall and a roof top restaurant which one staff member told me I had to access outside from the street, and another staffer told me I could access it using their elevator system. I passed. The included breakfast is extensive and very good.
