We had a pleasant stay at Grand Terminus Hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. Room was perfectly clean. Lots of stuff to eat for breakfast too! Also, one can get a discount at the local car park if one drives electric or hybrid. The car park is the car park of the train station nearby. Just give your license plate at the reception to get the discount.

“Good value”

Hotel is dated but nice and clean . It’s in a good position right next to the railway and bus station . Rooms were nice with proper wardrobe . Also had a minibar, we took everything out and put our own drinks in as alcohol is very expensive in Norway . Bathroom was tiny but had a good shower . Br... more

Hotel is dated but nice and clean . It’s in a good position right next to the railway and bus station . Rooms were nice with proper wardrobe . Also had a minibar, we took everything out and put our own drinks in as alcohol is very expensive in Norway . Bathroom was tiny but had a good shower . Breakfast had a good choice of food . Staff were helpful and friendly .

Hotel looks like it is somewhat passed it's heyday, while well appointed, there was few oddities like not working lift buttons, or lack of seals on shower doors. Hotel looks like it is somewhat passed it's heyday, while well appointed, there was few oddities like not working lift buttons, or lack of seals on shower doors. The location for Bergen was good, the room was comfortable, even if the mattress toppers had a tendency to migrate off the bed of the course of the night. Staff were friendly and helpful.

“Great location and breakfast let down down by room and noise during refurbishment”

We stayed for 3 nights in the hotel. The positives are its location beside the train station and not too far to town, the great breakfast and dinner in the bar. This is offset by the negatives. We stayed for 3 nights in the hotel. The positives are its location beside the train station and not too far to town, the great breakfast and dinner in the bar. This is offset by the negatives. The first room provided was on the 2nd floor and had 1/2 à view over a wall. It was an old tiny room so we asked and got a better room on the 6th floor. I noted that there a temporary door to work area but reception advised it would be an issue which it wasn’t until 6:42 in the morning when the drilling started. It was also early around 7 the other days but we had to be up anyway. You should be aware that there is major work going on in the hotel and there is noise early and during the day. The room itself was fine but you ended up drying the bathroom floor each tîme you had a shower as the drain was not great and the bathroom was very small. Overall I think I would consider above before staying here again.

The good: Grand hotel indeed, at least judged by it’s public spaces. Beautiful (and historic) bar. Great breakfast. Right across the street from the station if you’re arriving/leaving by train and just a short walk to the city center. Our room had french doors that opened and a terrace (see pics). The room was updated, clean and bright. The bad: Tiny room (see pics). Minuscule bathroom - you sit on the toilet with your knees under the sink (and it’s just physically not possible to stand and pee). No iron, kettle or tee/coffee. Probably would stay there again if the price were right. If not, would stay elsewhere but definitely come back to visit the bar.
