Chris' home made granola is splendid. This is not staying at a "Lodge" but in reality staying with friends at their superb home. I think I can honestly say that probably the best place I have stayed at when travelling.

Lake Taupo Lodge is over the top amazing! Gary and Shirley have done a beautiful job of keeping this property in the best of condition! My husband and I stayed in the Wright Suite for the last 3 nights and it was wonderful! Beautiful shower, wonderful room and comfortable bed, lovely outdoor terrace to view the beautiful lake and beautiful sunrise with the sounds of nature all around you. The grounds are outstanding with beautiful gardens and lovely topiary everywhere. Excellent coffee maker, fantastic breakfast and great recommendations for dinner in Taupo. Taxi service was easy and quick and we found many fun bars, etc. in town. We even were able to watch our hometown team from the USA play Monday night football. If you are in Taupo, I would make Taupo Lake Lodge your first choice. Kind Regards, Jackie and Win Scott

The rooms are large, well decorated and very comfortable, combined with the breakfasts which are wonderful and the afternoon wine and canapés are a top touch. The view and location is magnificent, the house, gardens are well designed. Gary's hospitality was spot on. We loved to hear his amazing tales from his business and life adventures. Would recommend staying at the Lake Taupo Lodge.
