We just had a one night stay, but the room (in Forrest wing) was clean and well appointed with a super comfortable bed. We opted to eat in town which is about a 20 min walk, which is fine on the way down but quite a hill to negotiate on the way back. Car parking is now chargeable at $15, but it is on a first come first served basis. All in all a nice hotel, but looking a bit tired in places.

We have recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and overall found it to be good (although we didn’t eat or drink there or use any of the facilities). We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready (that’s fine) so parked the car and walked into town for a couple of hours before returning to get our key. Check in was efficient and staff friendly. As others have mentioned they charge $15 per night to park your car so after the first night we parked across the road. Our room was on the 4th floor of the Forest building so had to take lift to 3rd floor then walk up a flight of stairs which wasn’t ideal. The room itself was large and we had plenty of room for all of luggage for 6 weeks in NZ. The bed was really comfortable and the AC worked well. Nice to have a small balcony with (side) view over the lake. Felt the bathroom was a little dated and shower door didn’t close properly. It’s a relatively easy walk into town as the first quarter of it is downhill but then becomes quite a challenge on the way back! We caught the bus from the town after the first night which was $4 and stopped outside. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Heritage. Room was very spacious with a separate living area/kitchenette. And the balcony had a great view over the lake. The hotel is about 20/25min walk from the centre of Queenstown. (Return walk is a bit harder with an uphill section.) However, it is only a short taxi ride into town, or an easy bus ride, and the bus stops almost across the road from the hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant as there is a range of restaurants in the Queenstown. But we did have post-dinner drinks in the bar, and service and drink selection were very good.

“Room for improvement”

We stayed for 6 nights in a king room in the Forest wing. The bed left a lot to be desired - very saggy mattress in the middle (where the 2 singles are joined) and the sheets did not fit the mattress size properly so the linen all got scrunched up within the bed - not comfortable! We stayed for 6 nights in a king room in the Forest wing. The bed left a lot to be desired - very saggy mattress in the middle (where the 2 singles are joined) and the sheets did not fit the mattress size properly so the linen all got scrunched up within the bed - not comfortable! The extra charge for parking was annoying. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and were underwhelmed by the menu options - dessert choices were particularly disappointing.

“Such a pity ”

Our studio apartment was scrupulously clean, spacious and well equipped with a balcony view that was worth the cost of the room alone. Our studio apartment was scrupulously clean, spacious and well equipped with a balcony view that was worth the cost of the room alone. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and even managed to recover my wife's misplaced handbag for her. Our bar meals were of good quality and value. I didn't make this booking so was disappointed to learn that they have jumped on the bandwagon of applying a surcharge to park on their property. What do I get for my NZD15 a night when you state you 'Won't accept any responsibility for valuables or vehicles left in your carpark'?
