“Excellent motel”
This is an excellent motel. We are new to staying in motels and this one was head and shoulders above the other ones we have stayed in. Very clean, very comfortable, great fire in the room which had been been turned on before we arrived so it was lovely and warm on a wet day. Well located. And good… more

“Perfect location, friendly service”
A perfect base for a stay at Franz Josef. A short, flat walk to all amenities - supermarket, restaurants - and helicopter flights. Friendly staff who were super helpful in providing advice on places to eat. Another benefit was being able to park the car outside the door.

“Nice comfortable base in the (very wet!) rainforest of Franz Josef”
We stayed 2 nights at Punga Grove in mid March and the only thing which didn't work out for us was the weather! The motel has a lovely rainforest and mountain backdrop, but all we could see was very wet forest from the window and no mountains!! We were allocated room 5, in the block across the car… more

“Excellent value”
We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was large, fairly modern, well fitted out, very comfortable. Location is fine, Franz Josef is only small and everything is easily accessible. The price seemed very good for the standard of accommodation. Would be very happy to stay here again.

“A lovely location in a lovely village”
A pleasant motel closely located to all facilities in Franz Josef. Walking distance to all eateries, bars, convenience, store, and multiple helicopter flight companies. The unit we stayed in, was quite spacious with separate bedroom and expansive kitchen area
