We spent 3 nights at KGH. We had a garden facing room which was very nice. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water when bathing or taking a shower. Despite being in the middle of Thamel there was very little noise in the evening. Air conditioning in the room worked well and we had the benefit of a private balcony overlooking the garden. Food in the restaurant was very good in the evening and good value for money. All staff were very polite and helpful. There are specialty coffee and tea bars on site which I would recommend. There are a large number of restaurants close by which are worth exploring with some very good breakfast options. If I do return I will stay again at KGH.

There is very few new things to say about this very familiar and one of the oldest hotel of Thamel are an in Kathmandu. It has a very authentic ambiance within itself. They have a new building and I was given a very good room there. However, due to new construction or renovation the room was full of dust. When I informed this to the reception they immediately changed my room to the old building and I was given a fabulous room named under the great Edmund Hillary the Everest conquering person along with Tenzing.Norgay. The room was very spacious with old time amenities but modern facilities. Clean. Toilet were equipped with modern western system. Hot water and generator available 24 hours. They have a good variety of items including fresh juice, breads and cheese during breakfast. Most of the staff are very friendly and supportive. The reception people were also very supportive. They have dining option for lunch and dinner. Many tourists come to take traditional lunch and dinner. Look forward to stay there again.

We stayed a night at Kathmandu Guest House between trekking and safari. Staff very friendly and efficient and the rooms very comfortable and well appointed. Great location in central Thamel but this did mean it was noisy at night. Our room was facing a dance club and the music was blaring into the early hours.

“Average service and room provided to me”

I stayed this hotel with family. Ambience is good rooms were not ok first day the allotted to me was bit noisy and on request they have given me apartment. I stayed this hotel with family. Ambience is good rooms were not ok first day the allotted to me was bit noisy and on request they have given me apartment. The apartment was not tidy furniture was old, curtains was in bad shape, floor was Brocken., at arrival not offered any water or welcome drink or water. They are good with foreigner other than Indians. If you get a good room then property is good location is good. Food menu is not having much options. Very less restaurant staff and service is also poor.
