“Lovely Hotel.”

The service was incredible. Couldn’t fault the staff for anything, they were amazing and super friendly! They are super accommodating and always go the extra mile to make your stay as relaxing as it can be. 100% would return here again. The cleanliness of the hotel was really good too.

The hotel is in a quiet location and beautiful entry as you drive in. Upon arrival we were treated to cocktails which was a nice touch. We had already done the check in on line on the riu app but upon arrival they said it hadn't worked so the long check in process started! We got to the hotel at 9pm and dinner finished at 10pm so we had enough time to get some food before going to the rooms. The main dining hall is lovely, well decorated and there was a choice of different dishes. We then went to our room and it was lovely. Nice big walk in shower and very comfortable bed BUT as it was 2 beds put together, my partner found it uncomfortable as he kept rolling into the middle. No kettle or hot drink facilities in the room. Bottled water was replaced daily by housekeeping. Housekeeping also done a very good job and even made designs on the bed such as hearts and petals. Irons are available on request with a holding fee. The entertainment schedule looked busy each day but we didn't really see much going on. No problems getting a sunbed but I can imagine in peak times it may be difficult. The evening entertainers really tried but it wasn't the best. The Moroccan and Italian restaurant was lovely. I am gluten intolerant and the chef in the Italian went over and above. Made me 2 gf pizzas and showed me what I could and couldn't eat. At breakfast you can get gf bread if you ask. The grounds are beautiful and are maintained well. The pool was freezing to the point that no one was in there and the weather was 28/29 so you would think it would have warmed up. The staff were really friendly. A tip goes a long way with some of the waiters. They will go over and above for you. Top up your drinks and do all the little extras. There's also a free shuttle bus that you can book onto that will drop you and pick you up from the Medina. I would definitely return. Thankyou.

This was a short notice booking for some December sunshine for myself and my wife. We paid very little money for our 5 night stay. Having stayed in hotels where a single night costs the same as we paid for 5 nights with flights at the RIU Tikida Palmeria. I'm always conscious of what we paid when comparing to other hotels. I'm glad we picked a TUI platinum hotel to achieve a minimum standard, although I question exactly what made it a platinum. There were no special touches to make it a plus or platinum in my opinion. A solid 4* hotel. Room A spacious room with 2 double-beds pushed together and a separate seating area. Clean and perhaps a little basic, but pleasant to be in. Decent sized balcony and bathrooms with a separate toilet. A larger walk in double shower and a wardrobe each with more than 4 hangers. Mattress was firm and super comfy. No problems Sleeping. Soundproofing between rooms seemed decent too. Our room faced the tennis courts and we could see the hot air balloons in the distance each sunrise. Bottles of water in the room each day and a slightly warm fridge. Remember I hadn’t paid Four Seasons prices so I need to be realistic. Grounds Very green well presented with plenty of trees, flowers and ponds. All very pleasant to be within. The outer pathway around the resort making a pleasant 1.5km running loop. Pools The outdoor pool was nice to look at but being December the water was cold and I only ever saw a couple of people brave enough to get in. Clean and tidy, although some of the broken floor tiles could do with replacing. Spa This was under going a major refurbishment so I can't comment. Pool bar No sunbed service, they only clear away your empties. A short walk to the bar where they can make a small selection of drinks served in a small cup. No bar food. Plenty of staff but they never really got to know you, with the exception of Ouissal. Not Rixos standard, but we hadn't paid for a premium drinks holiday, so I can't really complain. Wifi Coverage is everywhere within the resort. However the signal strength is misleading to believe it’s a decent connection when its not. Speed was anywhere from 0-5mb but mostly 1mb or less regardless of where you sit. It would also fluctuate from useable to non existent when you hadn't moved. Restaurants I was a little skeptical about booking a hotel with only 2 speciality restaurants. However our stay was only 5 nights and this seemed the normal for Marrakesh within this price bracket. I should also point out I have a general dislike to buffet restaurants. I wasn't expecting Four Seasons standards. Our first night we are in the main restaurant. Typical buffet, loud and busy. I was most surprised by how few food stations there were compared to the number of tables. Food was very vegetable focused, not many meat choices and the meat often over cooked. And for a country with a large coastline the only fish choice was a “Fish”. None of the food was super hot either. You just had to cherry pick what you like and try and create your own 3 course meal. Obviously not very intermit and all over very quickly Breakfast and lunch in the poolsude restaurant. Smaller but the same process and vibe. Sometimes you would be hard pushed to tell the difference between breakfast /lunch/dinner. We booked the Italian for our 2nd night. Turns out they just use a corner of the poolsiderestaurant and turn off some lights. Apparently adding a red and green table cloth makes it an Italian. Same food in principle as our previous visits. The pizza and pasta corner looking more like the kids corner. I'm not convinced any of the restaurant staff/chefs have ever been to Italy. But that's not what Italian pizza and pasta are. I should also point out these are speciality restaurants not alacarte. They are still buffet. The only difference is a waiter will bring you a small glass of wine or beer, rather than self service. Maybe harsh, but we knew this was cheap and not advertised as 5* nor al a carte. 2nd night we booked the Moroccan restaurant. This was a totally different restaurant with an authentic feel. Quieter, smaller and the food choice was now totally different and very Moroccan. Even if it was still a buffet. 3rd night we are again in the main buffet for a Moroccan themed night. Similar dishes to the Moroccan restaurant. Although on the funny side they had a selection of pizza and pasta that looked more Italian than the Italian restaurant. Afternoon snacks available in the Xxx after lunch and before dinner. 15:30 -17:30. Just a cut down selectionbl of the same food. However you could get fresh pancakes and add some ice cream. I never saw any prawns, or melon, or much meat and typically the beef was over cooked. The tagine meat was more tender. I have.no idea what kind of “fish” I ate. As I said at the start Im probably not the best person to review a buffet. Overall it was ok as buffets go and I didn't pay enough to expect the same as the Atlantis in Dubai. Evening bar Xxxx we went 1 evening when there was no singer. No table service, you have to go to the bar to claim your free drink. Different nuts and a popcorn machine though. Further nights had singers that weren't very good so we took drinks back to our room. Each to their own I guess. Again we hadn’t paid for Cruise Line evening entertainment and we weren't expecting Cirque du Soleil. Free Shuttle bus The hotel is a 20min approx drive to the city centre. However, the hotel run a free shuttle to and from town. Just remember to book your seats at reception. We went into the old town one morning for a wander around the souks being a typical tourist and had a barter with the locals. Worth a visit, once. I booked a High Atlas 4x4 private tour. Definitely a highlight, being driven up into the mountains. Very scenic and peaceful. Wonderfully informative tour guide. Visited a mountain Berber village and had tea with a local. Was great to see more of Morocco. Overall we had a really great time. We had plenty of sun, it was just colder than expected first thing in the morning and in the evenings. We never had to complain, which is always a bonus. Was it 5*, no. Was it advertised or priced as 5*, no. I think we got what we expected. Would I return to the same hotel? I wouldn't but that's my policy world over, maybe another trip to Morocco and stay in Agadir or Trip to the Sahara.

Average holiday - start with the positives, bar staff and restaurant staff were all very lovely, main ones that stood out to us were Adil in the restaurant who was so attentive and a great laugh and always cheerful, Fati on the bar team, lovely girl who always had a good laugh. Kali on the entertainment team was brilliant and always made an effort to say hi and do his magic tricks. Sadly the entertainment was very hit and miss, we gave up after night 3. The pool wasn’t useable, I imagine the Antarctic sea would be warmer, your legs and feet went numb and stung. Indoor pool was warm for a moment then you were cold, didn’t look clean either, bits all over the floor and murky water. Food was a big let down for us, extremely repetitive and inconsistent, speciality restaurants were the same, we ended up going out for food and saw many people at the hotel getting McDonald’s delivered. Rooms were clean enough but bathroom was outdated. Sadly won’t be back
