We stayed at Riad Hannah for five nights in January and had a very enjoyable stay. All the staff were extremely helpful, rooms were clean and tidied every day. Breakfast was typical of Morocco - tasty and in the lovely surroundings of the courtyard, with plants and water feature. We organised an excursion to Essaouira through the Riad which worked out perfectly. The company they use also offer various other excursions/day trips. The roof is a good sunspot in sunny weather with sun beds and chairs and table. Good location not far from main square and not far from where taxis drop you off. All in all, a great stay and would recommend. A&G

We went to Marrakech for my friend's birthday week. We opted for a Riad because we wanted to be nearer to the Medina and to be able to walk to the nearby places of interest as well. PROs: *Great location- The Riad is only a few minutes walk away from the Main Square. The accessibility of the shops is a plus as well. *Accommodating staff- I know that they're supposed to be accommodating but they will make you feel right at home. The very moment you arrive, they greet you with a smile and offer you their delicious tea. Shoutout to RAMON and MUNIR for the excellent service! *Excursions Offer- We really didn't plan anything for this birthday weekend. I just really wanted to see/ride a camel and eat my weight in tangine. But as Marrakech thrives in the Tourism industry, the Riad offered excursions that aren't really that pricey. I mean, they provide the transport and you stop for toilet breaks and lunches so I guess that's as touristy as you get. You can also coordinate with Ramon with timelines should you have problems with arrival times. CONs: *Ground floor rooms are noisy- This is mainly because the Riad's reception in on the ground floor so you will hear anybody checking in. If you have a choice, get rooms from the first floor up. We stayed on the ground floor so never again. *There is no toilet door- Yes, there really isn't any toilet door. The only thing separating your bed to the toilet is a curtain and this might be deal breaker to some people but hey this is what makes travelling dynamic and fun. *There are extra fees for cleaning etc- Maybe they should include that on the description for the Riad and it does feel like you're getting cheated but they do really clean the rooms albeit the satisfaction is mainly dependant on your definition of room cleaning service. All in all, I say book this Riad if you're opting for an excursion type of thing for a holiday. I mean, you only really need a bed at the end of the day after doing all the touristy stuffs. Don't book it if you're doing a staycation type of holiday, look somewhere else because the comfort may be there but it's not really for staycation types.

Lovely staff, great location. the place itself is quite pretty and very clean - certainly I've stayed in much worse places. But, there is this matter of the 'cleaning fee' and the tax. The city and tourist tax is standard (25 dirham per person a day - about Euro2.4) and all hotels have to pay it - though some include it in your tariff. You can check this out. The "cleaning fee" however is something I've never come across before outside of AIrBnB, and is a nasty shock. After some heated discussion this was set at 45 dirham a day (about E4.2). Altogether tax and "cleaning fee" 70 dirham a day, or E6.5. However it had started off with the manager demanding 40 Euro a day, I did get my room cleaned daily - though this may be partly because I moved 3 times in 4 days. The first room was in a separate building up 2 flights of very narrow stairs with no daylight or access to anything else. Paint peeling off the walls. I felt like I'd been incarcerated. The second room was off the courtyard in the main building (which you can see in all the photos). Sweet room, but the door and window opened right out onto the courtyard where people ate, drank, chatted and smoked constantly. The third room was up the next flight. Again a sweet room (though don't expect the plumbing to work perfectly in any of these options), and though slightly more private, I was woken all night with the horrid smell of cigarette smoke drifting in the window from the courtyard below. This smoking business may be a problem with all Riads in the Medina. If it wasn't for the "cleaning fee" I wouldn't bother complaining on Trip Advisor. The staff were lovely, and I felt very safe (once I'd moved into the main riad). But let's stop this particular fleecing of tourists. If there is a "Cleaning Fee" it should be stated quite clearly, in advance, on the listing.
