“Cooking class and more!”
We couldn't stay overnight but booked the cookery course. After Peter showed us round the local market, the local Hammam and other points of interest we returned to the Riad. We couldn't stay overnight but booked the cookery course. After Peter showed us round the local market, the local Hammam and other points of interest we returned to the Riad. Karima and Hassane were so attentive at explaining all the steps and the amazing food ! Oh Hamza was also a great guy, very helpful and gave good tips with maps and places to eat and things to do (even though we were not residents!) We will try and come back and stay!

We did the cooking class (didn't stay overnight) and it was fantastic! Peter gave us a wonderful tour, taking us off the tourist track to see the neighbourhood hammam, bread oven, and produce & spice market. Hassan and Karima were a great team. It's evident that Karima has such a respect for the ingredients, and prepares her food with care and joy. Hassan's energy kept us going, and he prepared the best tea of our entire trip. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of our meal but we enjoyed it immensely. We can't wait to recreate our cooking class meal and try more of the recipes.

I highly recommend doing the Moroccan cooking class at Riad Dar Zanam, whether you’re staying there or not. I highly recommend doing the Moroccan cooking class at Riad Dar Zanam, whether you’re staying there or not. It starts with Peter taking you around the local market and visiting the local bread ovens then back to the Riad to prepare and cook an amazing lunch. We learnt loads from the lovely team at Riad Dar Zaman- definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Marrakesh and looking forward to trying the recipes at home

We loved our stay here. The staff, notably Hamza, provided the most gorgeous welcome and were so hospitable throughout our stay. We loved the little rooms with comfortable beds and tasteful, historic-feeling decor. The terrace on top of the riad is lovely too. I can’t comment much on breakfast as we didn’t have time either day to enjoy it, but I can say I saw it and was sad to have missed it… which says it all! On a more prosaic note, we thought the location was excellent too, with most places we wanted to visit within a 10-15 min walk. If you can’t face even that, you will be encouraged to know there are also excellent restaurants even closer, which the staff will be delighted to recommend. Thank you for having us and welcoming us so warmly; we had a very peaceful stay and this was much appreciated.
