We stayed at Riad Al Badia for 4 nights in May. The team were very helpful, thoughtful, friendly and really made our stay. There was one wee mistake which could have resulted in us being left feeling disappointed but they rectified it quickly and smoothly so that we still had the best experience. They helped with trip bookings, recommendations for food and all the need to know information on the local area. The riad is so peaceful and calming especially the outdoor terrace and was decorated beautifully in warm and welcoming tones. It's located in a quiet, residential area and we loved leaving the busy medina streets after a busy day into our little haven of tranquility. It's still extremely close to all the main attractions and close to lots of great restaurants. Would thoroughly recommend having a meal in the riad, the home cooked tagine was delicious, by far the best we had in Marrakech and the breakfasts were outstanding. We will definitely be back to Riad Al Badia when we next visit Marrakech.

Riad Al Badia is an oasis from the rush of the Medina. The Riad itself is very clean and decorated beautifully. I had a few stereotypical travel mishaps happen during my stay, like needing to exchange money, forgetting toothpaste, etc. The team at the Riad did not hesitate to help when I needed help with these things, they are very hospitable. I especially appreciated the detail of them going through an actual map of the whole city upon my arrival, with the best routes to get to all of the attractions explained to me. My personal favorite part was the breakfast, the perfect start to a day in Marrakech.

My friend & I have recently returned from a weeks stay at Riad AlBadia & for all I don't like leaving negative reviews this is my honest opinion. I have travelled to Marrakesh many times, staying in riads & hotels. If you want cheap accommodation for 2 or 3 nights, then this may suffice, but for a week we found various problematic issues. The riad is a good 20 minute walk to the main square & on first appearance it is clean though lacks finesse. Our twin room was located on the 2nd floor which proved an issue climbing 34 steps with bad knees. The room was okay & beds were made daily. We had a seating area outside with iron sofa/chairs with seat cushions that were ripped/stained but after the first day all cushions except 3 were removed & suddenly replaced an hour before our stay was over! Bizarre. Said Terrace is where we were led to believe La Table Al Badia is? Basically its not a restaurant, its a table outside your room where an overpriced meal is served. Conveniently, it is also used as a dryer on sunnier days for the riads towels & bathmats. The small area a top of the terrace is where you can sunbathe, but not in comfort. The sunbeds have all seen better days & resemble the comfort of lying on metal rack awaiting torture. There are several neglected plants in pots with peeling paint, old parasol bases, broken freestanding lights, washing machines, chairs....nothing that exudes calm, chilled vibes. We took a day to sunbathe at Beldi Country Club which was lovely. The riads courtyard had a plastic weatherproof roof on in case of rain, making it stuffy & hot. We asked if it could be removed & was told no, rain was expected (it didnt rain). When other guests commented about it, we asked again & then it was removed. Breakfasts are repetitive. We had omelette almost every day. We did ask for fruit but never got any. Everything is very sweet & stodgy. I gave the elusive Laurent my feedback to which he replied, you should have voiced issues while you were there, not when you go home. I hardly think they are going to start painting plant pots, buy new sunbeds etc if i was to say this during our visit. This riad could be so much better, everything feels unloved. It just needs tidying up & injecting some colour & life into it. We are baffled at reviews that say this riad is beautiful! Maybe its sometimes not a good idea to try staying somewhere different.
