BRILLIANT! Absolutely loved this place for it authenticty and beauty! It is hard to find but staff will always come and collect you from the car park and taxis and tuk tuks will usually call them for you (and to check directions of riad!) Tuk tuks can take you all the way to entrance unlike a taxi too. Staff were all very friendly and couldn’t do more to help us (4 women aged 40-70ish) we were greeted by the most amazing fresh smell as the riad door opened and we were so impressed by how beautiful the decor was. We were given traditional mint tea and our bags taken to our suite- which was much nicer and larger than their photos show. We were also given a map and a description and instructions of how to get where we wanted to go and they marked areas on our map. So helpful!! Breakfast was traditional and was different every day but usually included a veggie pastry, fruit, the most amazing fresh OJ, coffee, mint tea, flatbread, Omelette, muffin type bread and jams/marmalade. We didn’t spend much time at Palis Tinmel as we went out a lot and it was quite cool weather while we were there, they have some lovely outdoor areas to relax in and a small dipping pool. It amazed us how crazy and loud it was outside of the walls but how quiet and peaceful it was inside. I can’t recommend this place more- and I was concerned reading the comments before we went- as I’m more of an all inclusive kinda girl but honestly thought this place was amazing! Really close to everything and tuk tuks and taxis are so cheap if you don’t fancy the walk. We had a brilliant time- thank you to all the staff at the palis Tinmel!

This riad hotel gave us an authentic stay in a luxury setting. The bedroom was magnificent, fascinating with the vivid traditional colours and comfortable with lovely facilities. It was all spotlessly clean and the shower was a joy every morning and the towels were clean and soft. The wifi worked well everywhere and the range of quiet spots to sit and relax or enjoy a tea or meal was wide ranging in this riad and really relaxing. You can choose sunshine or shade. The best view is from the tiny terrace at the very top where you can see the rooftops right across the city. Breakfast with a tea or coffee was tasty and enough to set you up for the day before venturing out. Most impressive was the helpfulness of the staff who started off by giving an overview of the city and where to visit and how to find everything, and were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. I really enjoyed our stay in such a different world to standard hotels

This riad is beautiful and we had an authentic experience staying in the medina. The staff are extremely attentive and are always on hand to help with organising our days out. The rooms are spacious and clean and beautifully decorated. Continental breakfast is included, we had something different every day. My favourite was the homemade donuts and pancakes. Taxis and the local tuk tuk drivers are very good, but make sure you agree a price before your journey. You can walk to the centre in about 30 minutes, but l would recommend a tuk tuk as they are so much fun. Eating out is very good value for money and would recommend Terrasse des epices for a fabulous evening meal on the terrace in the medina. Booking is a must, but worth it as the atmosphere is laid back with great live music softly playing. Thank you to everyone, especially the front of house staff for making our visit so memorable.

A friend and I stayed at the Palais Tinmel. We have booked elsewhere but were informed due to the earthquake the accommodation was not available which was fine as the tour operator informed us they would find us an equivalent. I had contacted the Riad prior to arrival as one of the reviews had indicated it is difficult to find and it was so thank you for that. The receptionist organised a taxi from airport to the Riad and collected us from the drop off point. Their transfer service is a pricey however we would never had found the Riad so it was worth. The Riad is beautiful and different staff each give you a different service. The first day we set off and walked it to the square which was easy. On the way back we found it to be a nightmare to get back. The following morning we spoke about our eventful journey back to the Riad the evening before. A different member of staff was incredibly helpful and guided us how to return to the Riad. As we did not want to experience the return we decided to get a taxi back from the square every evening and walk back to the Riad through the medina walls which was safe. You are met by eager children and some adults who live in the local surroundings near the Palais Tinmel :-) Do not expect anything to do at the Tinmel. It is very quiet. There are only 3 sunbeds. The breakfast is 5/10 and repetitive. The rooms are dated. The surrounding beautiful. The worst aspect of the trip was on the day we left. We agreed the night time before leaving the receptionist would assist with our luggage (beware lots of steps) and take us to the transfer point again arranged by the Riad. We had an early flight what can go wrong? Early hours of the morning the member of staff we had arranged it with was nowhere to be found. We waited, we called, we messaged via whatsapp, we range bells we knocked on office doors. No one, which was concerning. After some time we got our luggage down huffing and puffing and wheeled them to where the transfer car was waiting. The driver said he had called but there was no answer. We were extremely lucky. What a let down. We later found out that the member of staff was attending to another guest. Lucky guest but not lucky for us. My suggestion would be Palais Tinmel if you are aware 2 guests are leaving on the same day, the same time would it not be possible to have 2 members of staff working? And if that member of staff knew he was supposed to help us in the morning should he not have informed someone of the other urgency? Please feel free to ask any other questions.

You get what you pay for, don't expect anything more than a standard service. I went to celebrate my birthday in Marrakesh, not my first time in the city though, we arrived around 11AM and not even a typical mint tea was offered at check in, they left us waiting for an hour to be told that the room would only be ready around 3PM. I requested something to eat while we waited, a plan omelet was provided, which cost us 100MAD. In the bathroom, it got completely wet when using the shower, it was 4 days mopping the bathroom floor with a towel. The location is far from the central square (30 minutes), you practically have to cross the entire medina whenever you want to visit some tourist place or have a meal, and the path is not that pleasant. Breakfast consisted of pastry reheated in the microwave, nothing fresh. Very late on the last night, an invoice was presented regarding the city taxes + a simple mint tea (60MAD?) that had to be paid in cash, which I questioned as I would not exchanging money to pay for it at the last minute. In short, given the huge Riads offers in the region, I would definitely choose to stay elsewhere.
