The hotel arranged for pick up at the airport and our ride was waiting just outside the main entrance (don’t panic if the two guys holding signs up at the bottom of the elevator aren’t your rides, there are 40 people with signs outside). The riad is just inside the medina and a short walk from the ride drop off point where you are met by a hotel staff member who will take you and your baggage to your room. As a first time visitor to Morocco it was an experience ducking through doors, and up stairs , to reach the “Atlas” room, on the top floor, so distracted were we by the wonderful decoration and architecture we encountered along the way. The “riad” is a grand house built for a government official in the 1800’s(?) and just around the corner from the main square where all the action is (ask the staff for advice because we only happened to wander over there one night and discovered a festival atmosphere with dozens of musical circles and thousands of people being fed by food vendors, that weren’t there during the day). The shopping “souk “ is a very short walk from the riad, and covered throughout, so the sun doesn’t do you in (note: take any carriage ride when it’s cooler). Our room was wonderful with an adjoining patio with fountain and privacy gate (the gate lock was a bit sticky so be careful not to scrape yourself when opening). The kitchen was fantastic and breakfast was included in the room price. We had a very good dinner at the riad, upon arrival. The breakfast was epic and could hold one over until dinner. Some reviews of this place used the word “resort “ and we found it to be nothing of the sort, although, in Essaouira, we did stay in a much more modest medina riad. We also overheard some diners enjoying a meal, by the pool where food is served, exclaiming wistfully “Our riad is nothing like this “.

Amazing Riad, looks nothing from the outside but once inside, the Riad comes to life, with quirky rooms with exquisite communal areas. Attentive staff, great local breakfast. Fantastic location, albeit a little difficult to find initially.

Palais Sebban is a piece of heaven in Marrakech medina. This riad is beautiful aesthetically, spacious, good location and peaceful setting. There's a lovely downstairs pool ,restaurant and bar. The draping flowers are beautiful. There's a gorgeous pool to dip and bathe in on the gorgeous plant fulled roof terrace. The restaurant is good and have music and dancing Friday nights. The place is so relaxing and smells of orange blossom. The best part are the staff who are long term and so friendly , kind and so helpful. It feels like home but alas is just a too short a beautiful dream. The breakfasts are amazing with so much choice especially for vegetarians like us. Thank you to all the amazing staff, receptionists, waiters, cleaners, gardeners and to the owners for creating such a stunning place to enable having a truly relaxing and special holiday break.

Little bit of paradise all within the hustle & bustle of the souk marketplace of the medina district. The location is perfect and easy to walk to the Djemaa El Fna, Marrakesh's main square and all other parts of the city. I was worried Marrakesh would be quite difficult to navigate but actually it was easy with a map (better than Venice!) The staff at Palais Sebban Riad were lovely and made us feel so welcomed and really looked after us. It was very easy to book a guide to get us started in Marrakesh which was definitely worth doing to learn about the history and culture as well as giving us the confidence we needed to explore this remarkable city and its people. The Riad itself is beautiful, our room was fantastic and the breakfast was enough to get us started each day. It was also nice to sit in the many different areas of the Riad, whilst enjoying a drink as we recharged our batteries. We had one evening meal which was a little on the expensive side, but it was very nice and included some modest Friday night entertainment but do venture out the rest of the time. We booked transport via the Riad to and from the airport which was also seamless and easy. All in all, a visually stunning Riad with very hard working, friendly kind hospitality which really hit the spot for us.
