I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. My mother and I were supposed to spend our Thanksgiving holiday in Rome, though we made a last-minute decision to opt for a warmer, more exotic destination in Marrakech. We booked a gorgeous One Bedroom Deluxe Suite: roughly 800-1,000 square feet, 1.5 bathrooms, rain water shower, living room, ample closet space, and two balconies. Despite some mixed reviews, we experienced superior luxury hotel service. From the airport car transfer (our rate included complimentary pick up and drop off at the airport), to sipping on Moroccan mint tea during our check-in process, to the concierge (Jamal was extremely helpful and professional), the hotel felt like a home away from home. My mom was celebrating 11 years of being cancer free, and she received a beautiful bouquet of roses and a hand-written note upon arrival. A lovely start to our trip. Our rate also included a complimentary breakfast (buffet is open from 7AM-11AM Monday - Friday, 7AM-1130AM on the weekends), and we always felt very taken care of. From Day 1 and onward, Moatassim made sure we were content at all times. As vegan and gluten free guests, it can be a tall order — but he even proactively ordered porridge for my mom. Very thoughtful. Fun little treat: the instrumentalist Azim (sorry if my spelling is wrong!) played beautiful music as you eat breakfast. I highly recommend going to the concierge and meeting Jamal, who will give you the best suggestions to see Marrakech and its surroundings. He arranged a private walking tour of the old city, alongside a day trip into the Ourika Mountains (hiking, camel riding, lunch by the river, etc). He also handled all of our car transfers (drivers Yousef and Mohammed were delightful) to dinner with a smile of his face. Our experience in Marrakech was largely magnified by his excellent recommendations. We felt like we saw more of the city and country’s cultural through a local’s perspective, which was exactly what we had hoped for. We enjoyed the spa on several occasions — from post-flight leg massages to hair blowouts to a 45-minute full body massage. The spa accommodated all of our requests, though I expected to enjoy more of a leisurely experience (I didn’t have access to a locker room). Nonetheless, I would return for a Hammam treatment. If I had one true complaint about this hotel, it would be the noise. Although I went to the hotel’s rooftop restaurant / lounge on a few occasions, it was too loud for my liking. The hotel brought me ear plugs, and I still couldn’t sleep—and our suite was on the first floor. It started to give me anxiety, as I knew I’d be unable to fully sleep until the music ended around 2AM nightly. If there is some way to better soundproof the rooms or lessen the deafening bass, I believe it would increase guests’ satisfaction with their experiences. With that being said, we left Marrakech saddened to say goodbye to the Nobu team. From the nightly date x walnut treats and chocolate goodies to the “no request is too much” attitude, I will continue recommending friends to stay here. This is a stylish 'grown up' hotel; a crisp haven from the dust and chaos of Marrakech. As you step into the plushly furnished circular ground floor reception area, you are greeted by a delicate fragrance and calming subtle earthy tones with touches of velvet and gold. The decor seamlessly combines East Asian influences with Moroccan touches. The rooms are immaculate, with marble bathroom, dark wood furniture and minimalist Japanese artwork. The basement floor houses a darkly lit cavernous spa and a very long and wide indoor swimming pool (at least 18m long), complete with several ornate loungers, richly tiled in emerald and dark blue mosaic tiles. The pool was hardly used when we stayed. A short journey to the roof takes you to a beautiful circular roof terrace with stunning views over Marrakech. Be prepared for chilly weather in the evening - we were surprised on our first to see guests wearing coats. The hotel is not yet perfect; the service could definitely be faster and more slick, one one occasion there were not enough towels on the roof terrace and we had to wait for an hour or so...a DJ plays slightly unimaginative house music while guests are sunbathing on the terrace but overall these were minor issues for us; - the gorgeous decor and stylish 'vibe' were anchored by our experience of the Nobu Restaurant and Bar on the ground floor. We delighted in the tasting menu on our last night; the quality lived up to our high expectations of Nobu food. The bar's 'speciality cocktails' were imaginative; the Japanese Margarita was incredible. Breakfast had a good selection; the highlight is the setting, you can choose indoor or outdoor by the palms and pool while a musician strums a gentle tune; the atmosphere is calm and tranquil - I enjoyed a wonderful moroccan mint tea each morning as the sun rose...a really wonderful short break and I would happily return to this luxurious oasis again.

Very efficient and funky reservation system on the website for lunch on the roof terrace, but to ask for a photo of the guests who are coming and if it was a special occasion and for it to make no difference whatsoever just seems pretentious. We arrived on time for our lunch and no one cared that we’d a reservation, they just sat us down. We didn’t even get a chance to speak. Service was very slow and we were left for a long time before being at least offered water (it was a typically hot day) and then for them to take the food order was another long wait.none of the staff looked happy to be there and they avoided eye contact at all costs. Our drinks took forever to arrive and when I chased them up, I was told the bar was extremely busy. Our Bloody Marys taste different with every round of drinks. Some had olives, some didn’t. Food was just ok. Tuna Tataki definitely the highlight, but the hot food was far from hot. Weird pretentious Instagram Z generation guests. The wannabe beautiful people. Not our cup of tea.
