Mixed opinions here, 50% of people tell you to stay at a big hotel and 50% that you should stay at a Riad. Well… I went to the Riad and I’m happy I chose this one, the service was the best! Every staff member is there to make you feel appreciated and welcome, and not in a forced way. The management team go above and beyond to make sure you needs/expectations are met. The bathrooms need some maintenance/renovations, other than that everything is great. Very happy I decided to stay at a Riad and specifically at this one

“Magical Moments at Riad Monceau”

Well situated. A magical 4 night stay. The staff goes over and beyond to satisfy. Big thanks to Hoshni for excellent service, Mohamed serving a great breakfast, Meriam’s room service. Food at Pergola and Bistro Restaurants is outstanding

It’s essential that you contact the hotel and announce on your arrival. The less adventurous will likely get lost on the way to the entrance. Once you arrive you know that you have reached an oasis in the heart of the Medina. This place is marvelous, we were welcomed with open arms and a serving of mint tea. You are instantly taken back to a time that invokes the Casablanca movie. Maroua the front desk manager check us in. & we were led to our room on the second floor(no elevator) not a problem because we were led to an absolutely storybook well appointed room that included a whirlpool bath that was ready to hop right in & enjoy. I forgot to mention the well thought out settee area where you could enjoy a room service meal if you wanted to. That was shared with the other resident( 2 rooms in this section of the hotel) on this floor. We were given an actual room key( no key cards here) which was in line with the 20’s feel of the place. There was a little bit of a letdown when my wife & I had dinner in the main restaurant complete with live band. We did have a reservation( wasn’t aware we needed one) we were sat down at 8:15 with the instructions that we had only 45 minutes to dine because of the 9 pm reservation. We agreed but a funny thing happened. After 20 min., we still were ignored by all of the servers passing us by. Eventually a young lady arrived to take our drink order. We ordered 2 glasses of wine. We could instantly feel the disdain for ordering just 2 glasses of wine. After another 7 minutes of waiting, my wife made the decision to change our drink order to an entire bottle. That was a good call because the world was our oyster after that. The servers put on a full court press to provide the service we initially expected. Mind you it’s 45 min later & we still hadn’t placed a food order. I guess the 9 pm reservation party was given a different table. Anyway, the live band was very enjoyable the meal was delightful the evening was overall lovely. The next day we had a traditional Moroccan breakfast that was served by Sukaiana and Ayub poolside. They presented us with enough food that if we had eaten everything in front of us of us we wouldn’t have needed to eat anything until dinner. The next day we ventured out into the Medina and after a full day of adventure we decided at 7:30 thirty to make our way back to the hotel for dinner because the restaurant closes at 9pm. My wife & spent the next 1.5 hours trying to find our hotel. We were quite confused by our GPS which said we had arrived to our designated location but we didn’t recognize the pathway to the entrance l. Not realizing that there’s another entrance we timidly walked down the pathway to the hotel. Confused I approached the hotel’s General manager( his name escapes me)asking him if the Riad Monceau had a sister property. We were so lost that the restaurant closed. The GM put us at ease telling us that getting lost in Marrakesh is almost a rightful passage. He offered us a couple of drinks & when I asked for directions to another restaurant that was still open, The GM instructed to go to our room & he’d have the chef make us a quick bite. As I stated before impeccable service. The following day before our planned tour of the desert, we enjoyed lunch at the restaurant on the terrace & the wonderful service continued & the meal was a spread fit for a king. We only stayed 3 nights my wife didn’t have enough time to partake in the spa. I must say. If I were you I’d choose to stay here . We will definitely return to Le Riad Monceau when we visit Marrakech again

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights Saturday to Tuesday. We booked our airport transfers with the Riad and it was excellent, I would highly recommend. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff on arrival with mint tea and little pastries which, after queuing at the airport for almost two hours, was extremely welcome. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with bottled water and a bowl of fruit to welcome us plus fresh roses. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful, a good start to our hectic stay. On the second morning we had a Spa package which was absolutely delightful and relaxing, I highly recommend but I would book it before your arrival. We didn’t have dinner at the Riad as we had booked two of our favourite restaurants but next time we will definitely eat at Riad Monceau as the food looked very good. Now for the not so good, there is live music every evening which we didn’t mind as the entertainment was good. What wasn’t good was the clearing up after the diners had left, the floors are tiled and so the noise from moving chairs and tables, clearing away dishes and cutlery, was loud and went on until around 1.00am. Fortunately my earplugs kept out the noise but my daughters didn’t. My suggestion is to definitely take good earplugs with you. We really enjoyed our stay as it’s a comfortable Riad, lovely staff and well situated.
