First time in Morocco and certainly won't be our last. From the outside of the hotel, you don't know what to expect, but the minute you enter, you realise you made the right decision staying here. Tradition inside, the rooms are great, just what you need as a base. The food was great, and drinks were well priced. Lovely and quiet away from the busy old town. They do a shuttle into town and back twice a day, but if these times don't suit will organise a taxi at a great price, and they will come back and collect you when you call them. What made this stay incredible was the staff, so friendly and can't do enough to make your stay memorable. Arriving at the hotel at 10.30pm they made sure that we got a 3 course meal after a long day travel. They also offer spa facilities which we did on our last day having a traditional hammam exfoliation and massage. They staff even allowed us to keep the room for an extra few hours so we could get showered and freshen up before leaving. 5⭐️ really don't want to leave.

The hotel itself is so clean and authentically beautiful. It’s not like the other European or English style hotels, but it has its own unique atmosphere that makes the hotel look more authentic . It’s quite basic. Every single staff member was super friendly and nice. This hotel is located away from the hustle bustle of the city. This hotel has been decorated in traditional Moroccan architecture and it has its own warmth and charm. I love every minute I spent there and I would love to go back there again. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this beautiful hotel and the most kind and lovely staff.

It's a bit of a surprise when you drive up to this hotel as you will encounter lots of litter, children begging, a collection of unfinished/breeze block structures on the doorstep (which you can clearly see from the hotel). However, we had a friendly and positive greeting from all of those who worked at the hotel. The traditional hotel design is also impressive. Negatives - The experience didn't represent the current 4 star rating. For example, the main menu food was a basic selection of western-style cafe foods - reheated lasagne with no salad, a tiny portion of basic chips with chicken skewers and chocolate ice-cream straight from the 80s - synthetic and cheap tasting. The menus were also surprisingly dirty, headings written in biro etc. - definitely need replacing, or at least a wipe! I understand that you can book tagine a day in advance, but this isn't obvious until you see someone else eating it. Local area doesn't really feel safe for visitors to explore and lacks any amenities. Parts of the building need some love and attention/a refresh. Although there was a spa menu in the bedroom, there was no information booklet or refreshments menu/local info/emergency numbers, local tours info etc. This would have been useful (and usual in a 4 star hotel). Some really noisy plumbing sounds throughout the night and odd smells coming from the sink. Positives - Useful shuttle to and from town, helpful and friendly staff, gorgeous views from the roof (towards the mountains), traditional feel. The roof area is stunning first thing in the morning and you can spot masses of hot air balloons in the distance if you're early enough. I enjoyed the peace, the birdsong and watching the stray dogs and farmers from the property. Although we weren't impressed with the eve/main menu, we enjoyed our breakfasts - a selection of breads, yoghurts, coffee etc. with visiting little birds in the dining area. Some pleasant, authentic communal areas and the veranda is lovely. With any luck, the unfinished buildings surrounding the property will be completed at some point! The view to the left of our balcony was great (the view to the right was not). This hotel could be amazing, with a few tweaks, attention to detail and some basic improvements to the immediate surroundings. However, we did enjoy our stay.
