We booked the Dar Dubai purely on the strength of the Trip Advisor reviews, we didn't expect much given the price, but our expectations were definitely exceeded. Our room was functional & clean, (ours had air conditioning) with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is again functional& clean towels provided. The staff are very helpful & friendly. Breakfast is the same every day but good quality. The breakfast area is open roof & it is lovely having birds fly in occasionally as you eat. The rooftop is a great place to relax. They also offer trips at a greatly reduced price than we had found online & cheaper than we found others had paid.

We stayed here for 10 nights during our visit to Marrakech, Abdul one of the hotel staff was very polite, welcoming and informative of the location and sites to see in the area. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and it was no trouble to have it on the roof top over looking the city (although the view wasn't amazing) the maid cleaned the room everyday however the towels were not changed and you had to ask for toilet paper. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious however wifi doesn't work in the rooms on the second floor. The shower was fluctuating between scolding hot and freezing cold so you had to be quick! No locks on the door so we asked for a padlock for security when we left our things which was no trouble and the hotel had a duplicate key incase you lost it. Morning prayer call at 5:30am every morning was difficult as the speakers are directly next to the hotel however as the days go on you become used to it and manage to sleep through. Over all this is a authentic, basic riad perfect for a low budget holiday, you get what you pay for but we throughly enjoyed our visit.

We booked Riad Dubai and if these reviews are to be believed we were not alone in finding ourselves at the Dar Dubai. I wonder if it actually exists. We have enjoyed the stay and have some thoughts. On the positive side: 1. Great staff. Very helpful and friendly. 2. Good bed. Very comfy. 3. Great location, possibly not for everyone, but we loved walking back through busy and chaotic streets full of motorbikes and kids playing football. However, this place is tatty. It really needs a licking of paint and a tidy up. And do try to avoid a downstairs room if you can. We had one night downstairs and asked to move ....it was so much quieter up there!
