“Princely hospitality”
This riyad is exquisite, a mini-palace, and the host Ribal Idrissi Qaytuni is a prince. No effort was spared to make sure that we were treated with the best of everything. The generosity and hospitality of the owner and his staff at this special place are sans pareil.

If you want to feel like home, you really need to stay in this truly unique and amazing hotel, which is very close to the souk of Fez! We stayed here for the second time and we had such a wonderful and unforgettable time again. The owner and the team give you a very warm welcome as soon as you enter the riad. They are super friendly, helpful and caring. The hotel rooms look like you sleep in 'a thousand in 1 night' scene with authentic furnutire and details. The rooms are very clean and tidy. Also the interior of the riad is absolutely stunning and very well maintained. The breakfast in the morning is all home made and delicious. Same counts for the dinner in the evening. This hotel is the best and deserves more than 5 stars!

The top thing that stands out about Riad Andalib is the service. Riad Andalib staff deliver what I’d expect in a 5 star hotel and it was way beyond anything else we had in Morocco. Reibal patiently answered my many questions before we arrived. Then when we got there, he took us through a map of the medina and gave us so much information and advice – his passion for Fes is evident, as is his education and extremely good English. He ensured we wouldn’t get taken for a ride by the taxi drivers (money-wise at least) and advised us on prices and we felt a lot more confident in dealing with the medina. I picked up a gastro bug while I was there and he once again sprang into action, helping my husband locate a pharmacist that was able to provide medication that fixed it up. And all the other staff - Omar, Iman, Noardine and others whose names I didn’t catch, were all so polite and helpful. We needed to do some laundry so Reibel organised Omar to go with us to a local laundry in the back lanes behind the riad and negotiate for us. It cost Dh350 for probably 10kilos of washing, all impeccably cleaned and ironed, and done in 24 hours. The next thing that sets Andalib apart is the food. Breakfast was almost ridiculously generous – we felt guilty for the amount we had to leave, in case we burst. And I’d recommend booking dinner - it was so flavoursome and delicious and was probably the best we had in Morocco. Anywhere we ate outside was frankly a disappointment. The location is excellent, just across the road from the medina but it’s on a street that cars can access so no dragging suitcases through the medina. The building has been finished to a high standard and I can quite understand it taking 6 years to do. It has a covered roof that protects from flies and weather. The rooftop terrace is lovely with a good view across the medina and has shading in the hot weather. We stayed in a junior twin suite which was large and had a small lounge in it as well. We had excess luggage though so I would book the Ambassador suite next time, just to fit it all in. Room was spotlessly clean and maintained daily. Beds (two king singles) were comfortable. The room was mostly quiet, with no street noise. The airconditioning was good, not noisy and very much needed in the heat. Our room had a full bathroom with separate shower and bath, two sinks, loo and bidet, and we got plenty of towels. Note that I highly recommend this hotel, these are just items to be aware of: As with any riad, the rooms open into the central courtyard so they can be a little dim and still even with the windows open. We also got some noise from other guests down in the courtyard coming in later in the evening. The stairs are quite steep and uneven, due to needing to fit the historic building. Use the stair lights!
