“Great stay in Xalapa”

This property is very well located, most of the attractions are accessible by foot, for the rest, it is a quick taxi ride. It is very clean, comfortable, and quiet. It has a lot of charm and its breakfast are delicious.

“Lovely Interior Space”

From the street entrance, you have no idea of the lush greenery, flower pots, azulejos, and decorative tables and chairs that make the Posada so pretty. From the street entrance, you have no idea of the lush greenery, flower pots, azulejos, and decorative tables and chairs that make the Posada so pretty. The rooms are plain, but the bathroom in my room was new. In Dec., Xalapa was cold and rainy; the Posada provides room heaters on request. The Posada is located on a long, very steep street, about 3 blocks away from the main restaurants, public transportation, etc.

I spent 4 nights in Xalapa last month and, on recommendation of my birdwatching guide, Rafa Ruida Hernandez, I stayed at the Posada del Cafeto. It's a wonderful place, I must say. Xalapa has worse traffic than most of the places I've visited in Puebla and Veracruz states but, because the Posada is on a narrow side-street, it's very quiet. It's a gorgeous place of 2 or 3 floors, depending on how you count the additions. There's a peaceful inner courtyard, a very charming little resto (I didn't try it) on site and views of the surrounding area from the upper rooms. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's only about a 10-minute walk to city centre and the price is quite reasonable, though not "budget". Of all the places I saw in walking the streets here, I'd say that this is the most charming I saw.
