Just fabulous service the best location and incredible design and art throughout the hotel. Pamela was just a saint guiding use through SMA. Very walkable and nice being close to everything if you need that post margarita nap ! Oh and great food at the courtyard!

Location location what a beautiful hotel just a few blocks from city central (5 mins)The art work throughout the hotel and the gardens were dazzling. The room rates were extremely reasonable. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful in making your stay comfortable..They are great ambassadors for San Miguel. Our room(Gaviota) was spacious and accommodating. But wait!! You have to eat at their restaurant the brunch is fabulous and dinner on the roof is spectacular we had the Mango ceviche (OMG) and carnitas tacos very tasty. Excellent service

Great beds & pillows, authentic ambiance, great hotel staff and perfect location Note all the rooms are different and you won’t necessarily get the room shown on the website when you book but all the rooms we saw were very charming. Very clean facility

Our tour guide actually brought us to this hotel to see the mural. Restaurant food: Lovely service people! Very kind and they do their best to take your order. I had a mango gazpacho one evening and it was clearly made freshly for me, and it was amazing! We also enjoyed delicious sangria here. / The water they serve is also good - safe to drink. [do not drink the water from the faucet in your room unless you've run it through a purifier as it is not safe to drink] I will add, its not the fastest -- however your food is fresh and made to your order. We ate here a couple times. We also had breakfast one day. Entrance water (spa side): Delicious!, and if you desire you can sample the different flavors of water. Staff: In general they are all very sweet and do their best to make your stay nice. Upon arrival we were invited to choose our soap. Which turned into a nice souvenir. Room: Clean-ish. There was a dead cockroach in our shower. We found it. The person that walked up with us didn't look in the shower area when showing us the room... There was a small bar of soap, as well as small bottles of shampoo, conditioner & lotion. Bed: Linens were white / clean... soft pillows... Our bed was definitely well used. The metal frame had wood planks across it to provide more support. We slept on the edges of the bed so we didn't slide into the center; which was fine for a couple days. Room Service / Washroom: The rooms are fluffed while you're out. The towels aren't changed, only the wet washcloth is changed. The counter in the bathroom isn't washed off and so on. They do take the trash that you place in the bin. Sound: You will hear your neighbor. So much so that I could tell you the names of the people in the room next to us because I could hear them speak to one another. Shower: aside from the dead cockroach, the shower is a "rain" type shower. Rain that gets you wet, however makes it a challenge to rinse your hair (especially if you have longer hair). Also, make sure to close the curtain and washroom door as you'll be chilled. It's chilly anyway, but really chilly when the curtain and/or door is left open. The shower water also gets warm, not hot. I had the shower handle all the way to hot and I found it to be luke warm. Television: We found the remotes in a metal box near the bedside. In general, the tv wasn't easy to get started (the remotes can be confusing - as in which to use to turn on/off and which to use for looking through programs). Don't expect netflix or the like of. We did need help getting our tv to work as it wasn't working and that's when we learned which remote was for what. Another time when it wasn't working we were told that we loosened the plug from the wall - which wasn't the case. - Note to the management: You shouldn't blame the customer. Why would we unplug our tv? Coffee / Nespresso: It seemed easy to use. We had to move it across the room to a different outlet to get it to work. I had to youtube for instructions. Simple enough, but not if you've not used this kind of machine. Two pods were supplied. The sugar packets appeared to have been there for some time. Cooling / Heat: They have a "split" in the room. There is a remote for this too. We didn't find it easy to use, however we youtube'd it and figured it out. Water: expect two bottles a day - if one is partially full you won't receive a new bottle. I did appreciate that they supplied us with some bottled water -- and that they are glass bottles of water, as opposed to plastic. Windows: We kept our windows open. It was cool at night and even in the 80 degree weather the room was pleasant. The screen on one window was broken (not fully connected) - we requested it be fixed. We were told that they would fix it and they did not fix it while we were staying in the hotel. It might still be broken - check your windows. Entertainment: There was a wedding - which was beautifully decorated for... however the music was incredibly loud into the evening. We closed our windows and the music from the wedding was still unbearable. We called downstairs and were told no one else was complaining of the noise - which was really hard to believe unless all the other guests were at the wedding. We were told the music would end at 10pm and it didn't. My husband went downstairs and the wedding planner told him it would end at 10pm... It was now after 10pm. Shortly after he left the wedding planner, the music stopped. Had we known there was going to be a wedding / a loud event on the evening at this hotel we'd have chosen to stay elsewhere. It was incredibly frustrating. -- Also, if there is an event the restaurant area will be closed as they are preparing. Understandable, however one should know if there is going to be an event while staying there so people can plan accordingly. Gardens: Beautiful gardens and flora!!! The birds visited the fountains and the owls hooted all night into the day... and we heard something like crickets - for all I know they were cockroaches. :/ Also, if it matters to you -- this hotel is not handicap accessible. There are many stairs -- Beautiful staircases, arbs, flora and so on! However, it's not a place for anyone that needs wheelchair assistance, or for anyone that has difficulty with stairs. Also, some of the staircases are narrower. If stairs aren't an issue for you --- you'll be fine! Would I stay here again? - I'm really not sure. If there wasn't a wedding event and the late night noise - yes maybe. It was a in a great location. you'll hear the church bells everyday - it's very close to centro on a beautiful street. All very walkable. Again, great / sweet staff -- tip them well as they deserve it. I miss many of them as they were SO very kind.
