We had a short stay in the city and decided to stay in Zocalo. The hotel is just at correct place, the staff is helpful and can provide required information to move around. The Zocalo area is pretty good and bustling with people. We enjoyed walking around the area and felt safe at all times. The breakfast was not so good, could be improved

“Does what it says but does it well!”

Prior to booking I did my research checking reviews on here and the location, I expected a basic hotel but very well located. Prior to booking I did my research checking reviews on here and the location, I expected a basic hotel but very well located. I have to say I personally was impressed because what the hotel may lack in amenities and luxuries it more than makes up for in location and service! Lovely, helpful people on reception whom I tipped several times just because I was impressed they always remembered me, my room number and just assisted me with everything they could! Breakfast is basic but for the price anything I think is great but it’s still nice and changes daily, on top of that it’s served on a lovely terrace overlooking the historic zocalo. I will definitely be returning but most likely book direct as on this trip it was actually my UK travel agent that initial messed up the booking upon arrival 😱 Muchas gracias hotel amigo zocalo I look forward to seeing you when I return!

“Basic, Basic, Basic”

Location is great for the Zocolo but the accommodation is one star. Room was clean but as mentioned previously very very noisy all night long. Hard bed, very poor decoration. Booked for two nights but might only stay one if we can see everything today.

The stars were no doubt earned by checking enough boxes but without much notice of its overall quality and comfort. It is well located, near the Cathedral and the Zocalo metro station, but mostly pedestrian Moneda street is bustling during the day and creepy quiet at night when the shops are shuttered and street vendors gone. There are no convenient cafes or restaurants. The building across the street is a Government office and we were woken to the sound of a noisy demonstration. The room was very small, perhaps 10 feet square, with no hanging space and little luggage capacity. We were only given two towels, but the bathroom had no hooks, towel rods or shelves anyway. No bath mats on the floor. No hot water in the sink; the shower was fine. No cups or plastic glasses for the sink. Wifi erratic. Breakfast was basic. The cost was low, demonstrating the old saying, "you get etc..." but the next time, we'll happily move up.
