Parador Chihuahua

“Good hotel with great location.”

There is no many hotels to choose from in Chihuahua, certainly, this is the one I was answered from.I wasn't told, how much the room cost, just received booking confirmation in spanish. There is no many hotels to choose from in Chihuahua, certainly, this is the one I was answered from.I wasn't told, how much the room cost, just received booking confirmation in spanish. We came very late, the reception was open, but I'm not sure beacuse of our arrival. The receptionis did his job and gave us the key, but, for some reason, he forgot to give me my change back, so make sure you ask for yours. Not a good one. There was some kind of trick to open the lock. The room was spacious, with two double beds, tv and air conditioner. Unfortunately, they not provide baby's cot, but it wasn't the big problem at all. Room was clean, towels and bed linen too. There was also spacious bathroom with shower and shelf unit. Also available in the room, hair dryer and iron, which was very nice to find in. The hotel serve you with continental breakfast, you can eat as much as you can. There was fruit bowl, milk, jam and chocolate spread, honey, cereals etc. The place is located just a few minutes walk to downtown and main square with magnificent catedral. Overall, we had no issues to this hotel. We've been there for two night and used this spot only as a stopover before we headed to Copper Canyon. I would recommend this hotel, but when next time in the city, I rather try to find uot something cheaper.

We spent a night at the Parador at the beginning and ending of our trip to visit the Copper Canyon. Overall, we found the Parador to be a decent, mid-priced hotel that is close to downtown, with very friendly service. We arrived early in the morning, and the neighborhood around the hotel didn't seem too inviting...then we arrived at our hotel and were pleased. They even let us check in early. The hotel itself is really more like a nicer motel. Our impression of the hotel is much like our impression of Chihuahua in general. We weren't too impressed at first, but the more time we spent there, the more we enjoyed our stay. The Parador has fairly decent rooms. We stayed in one downstairs and another upstairs above the lobby. The upstairs room we had was slightly better. Carpets and towels seem worn, but overall the place was decent for the price. There is a fairly small but clean pool with tables, vending machine, clean bathrooms. There's also what looks like a jacuzzi, but really it's just a smaller kid sized pool. The lobby and restaurant service is good. We were happy with the friendly nature of hotel and restaurant staff. Not many people speak English here, so it is helpful if you speak some Spanish. I know there was at least one staff member at the hotel that spoke perfect English. There are other fancier hotels in the area (near downtown), but they are closer to the hundred dollar range for a room. The Parador was nice because it was still affordable, and was close to the pedestrian shopping street, grocery store, and tourist office and historic buildings. Would we stay here again? Sure. We are mid-range hotel travellers, so this place suited us fine, and the staff was very friendly. You will probably like the Parador if you have some working Spanish, want to be downtown, and are not expecting 5 star hotel amenities.
