The resort was beautiful. We had the best room there. The food was delicious and each dining experience was unique. Everything was clean and beautifully presented. The staff was what made the experience better than we expected. They all deserve raises and bonuses!

Juan treated us as if we were royalty at Divum restaurant, Sandra Vargas kept us comfortable every day in the Innovation owner area and I had an incredi le surprise....I lost and they found an important piece of jewelry. Nice to know there are still honest employees in this world. Thank you to all the staff that made this a healing vacation.

My sister and I were there for a week, during Canadian Thanksgiving. We found overall service was very good. Exceptionally groomed and clean resort. Little bits the resort could maybe focus on is the Neon party which is Thursday nights. Not one song was in english, the d.j. focused on Mexican music & line dancing. We requested songs but he kept saying later, later, we had hoped for more multi-cultural dance music. Al a carte we personally recommend was Essence not Divum. Thanks Armony we had a fabulous time. We checked into this resort on Saturday for a six-night stay after a last-minute change from the Riviera Maya area due to weather concerns. Puerto Vallarta delivered with great weather, and the sunsets have been absolutely incredible—a true highlight of our trip. There are some strong positives here, but also significant downsides, especially for anyone needing shade. The biggest issue is the lack of effective shade at the pool and beach. Most of the umbrellas are fixed and don’t tilt, leaving nearly every chair unshaded for most of the day. If you try to move chairs or one of the few adjustable umbrellas, staff will quickly scold you, citing nonexistent “rules” about keeping walking aisles clear. Although one staff member kindly offered to help us find shade, when we called on her, she was ultimately unable to assist. Getting seating is easy, but with the umbrella situation, it’s challenging to relax comfortably—especially for fair-skinned visitors like us from Wisconsin. If they’d consider adding tilting umbrellas, we’d gladly consider a future visit. The pools, however, are a highlight—warm and comfortable from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (and likely beyond, though we transitioned to dinner by then). Dining options come with their own challenges. Apart from a couple of reservation-only restaurants with air conditioning, most breakfast, lunch, and dinner options are outdoors. With mid-80s temperatures that felt closer to 100 with the humidity, dining was often uncomfortable. Service had some frustrating aspects. Though they ask about food allergies at seating, the information doesn’t seem to reach the kitchen, and no accommodations are made. Additionally, even though meals are included, you’re asked to sign a check with a zero balance every time, which feels unnecessary. It took three days and multiple calls—plus a request to see a manager—to get a faulty door latch fixed, as it was leaving our room unlocked all day and night. Similarly, adjusting the room temperature from an uncomfortable 23°C (about 75°F) required manager intervention. The food itself is decent but somewhat limited and repetitive. If you find something you like, it’ll be available throughout your stay, but if not, you might struggle with the selection. Fortunately, we enjoyed most of the offerings, though others may find it lacking in variety. One disappointing aspect of our experience was the aggressive sales pitch on our first day. Even after repeatedly saying no, we were pressured to attend a sales breakfast, with hints we’d be harassed by salespeople at the pool if we didn’t go. Thankfully, this didn’t happen, but it was an unwelcome start to our vacation. On a positive note, management took interest in our feedback about the shade situation and arranged for us to spend our last day in the exclusive area at no charge, which was spectacular. If you’re willing to spend the extra $400 per day, it’s a worthwhile upgrade. Additionally, they treated us to specialty steaks at one of the restaurants, prepared to our liking—an enjoyable way to round out our trip. In summary, while the views, beach, warm pools, and sunsets are beautiful, the resort’s lack of shade, slow service, and uncomfortable outdoor dining detract from the experience. If they address the shade issue, we’d gladly consider a return visit. For now, though, if shade, attentive service, and comfortable dining options are priorities, you may want to consider other options.
