This place is absolutely wonderful. The hotel is gorgeous and set in beautiful gardens right on a fantastic stretch of white sand and turquoise blue sea. The beach has a swimming only area right in front of the hotel which has coral and tropical fish so it's great for snorkelling. There are friendly and attentive security staff on the beach so you can relax in the sea rather than be worrying about your belongings, they also have kayaking and other options at the boathouse if you want to go further out and see more coral. The hotel has a glass bottom boat running daily too. The rooms at the hotel are gorgeous and all have sea views. The service and staff are fantastic too from all departments, keeping the hotel and rooms clean and the gardens perfect. The wildlife appreciate the gardens too. The birds and butterflies flying round are great to watch and at night from the bar and the beach, you can see them in the trees or being chased away by the birds. The service at the bar and restaurant are top class and the food is delicious and you are provided with table service rather than a self serve buffet style as in most hotels. The staff are all really friendly, they are happy to get to know you and talk but also happy to leave you to your own company and peace and quiet if you prefer. The whole team were great, I'm not going to list names as they were all great and all do a fantastic job of making sure your holiday is relaxing and the service is great. The hotel manager, Shiva, greeted us on arrival was very friendly and made sure we were happy with the hotel and service, when he heard our trip was to celebrate retirement he offered us an upgrade to the penthouse suite which was amazing! He also allowed us a late check out which was much appreciated as we had a late flight. We would definitely recommend and we hope to come back soon... and have already been looking at booking for next year!

This resort is absolutely amazing and well worth the visit. All the staff can not do enough for you and all go above and beyond to make you feel like a VIP guest. Shiva and the rest of the team (deano, sima, Daniel are a few names that stood out) are so welcoming, helpful and just really make you feel like you’ve joined a part of their family for the time you have stayed. The hotel itself is perfect! The layout from the reception to the dining area to the bar area and pool and to the beach means that you’re never far away from whatever you need but still feeling very spacious for the amount of guests there are. The food which served every night was out of this world and again every evening you come down for dinner, there is a personal touch given to the service from all the staff. On arrival in the morning at around 11am, our room wasn’t quite ready and so we had the pleasure of staying for one night in the penthouse! What an amazing experience, we then moved to our junior suite which obviously apart from the size was equally beautiful. All rooms have a sea view where you can enjoy the sunset from your balcony. Highly recommend this hotel and sincerely hope to return again one day. Thank you to Shiva and the team for the most amazing holiday ever!! ❤️

General Manager MAHAND who arrived to manage Le Cardinal & Casuarina Spa Hotel only days before. Mahand was manager at The AMBRE Adults Only Hotel on the East Coast of Mauritius when we celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary in Oct'23. Great to see Mahand again and he and his management team have great plans moving forward, making your vacation that more memorable. All Staff working at Le Cardinal from the Chefs, Reception, Room Attendants, Gardening Staff & Security are so Friendly and Helpful. SPA Staff at The Casuarina (sister) Hotel, literally across yards across the road from Le Cardinal are so professional. Your 30 minute Complimentary Massage is a great way to start your Relaxing holiday. Follow that with an ANTI-STRESS, 1 Hour massage, Cost Rs 2790 (£36 appox) for the 2 of us and the REVITALISANT, 90 minute massage, Cost Rs 3400 (£57 approx) for the 2 of us, Steam Room & Swimming Pool included in Cost. You won't regret the additional massages and there a few to choose from. info@alizeeresort.com Le Cardinal has 5 Rooms , ground level, 5 Rooms 1st Floor level and 3 Villas on the 2nd floor. In less than 100 meters from your room you will walk past a small swimming pool, 4 feet deep, the Breakfast, Lunch & Evening Meals are, the small but well stocked outside Bar and then onto the Beach and the welcoming Sea. Less than 100 meters. MAGIC! This is a place to stay for a Total Chill and Unwind. A LA CARTE: B/Fast 7.30 - 10am, Lunch Noon - 2pm, E/Meal 7.30 - 9.30pm. We ate everything off the A La Carte (all incl) menu and the various meals on offer sufficed our taste buds. If you want something different on the menu, then you have to pay a Supplement Fee, highlighted in BLUE. e.g. Lobster comes with an extra Supplement Price. Alternatively, your stay at Le Cardinal includes for you to go across the road and enjoy The Casuarina Hotel (220 Rooms) daily Buffet. We didn't feel the need or bother to check it out. BAR: Local PHOENIX beer is very good. You can get various shorts, cocktails and hot and cold coffees form 11am - 11pm. SPORT: Kayaks, Single boarding, Sailing, Paddleboards are located on the Beach Area. As you step onto the beach, look to your Right and 100 meters away you'll see a hut under a tree and you write your room number out, type of equipment you are taking, time & signature. 30 minute kayaking at a time. I really enjoyed kayaking around the various moored boats and catamarans in the Bay. TRIPS: VIJAY (Vava Voom) is the Respected & Recommended person to book your 3 Island Catamaran Trip (we had awful weather on our trip, Unlucky and September is the end of their winter season). The Speedboat Trip Southwards ( ours was a Catamaran with 2 large outboard engines), the weather was much kinder. This trip you get the opportunity to swim with wild dolphins (a pod of 7/8 ) on our trip and do some Snorkling and have a nice 1 hour relaxing stay + food on a nice sandy beach. The VAVA VOOM Staff on Both Trips where FANTASTIC! TRIPS: We were here to CHILL after a very stressful few months back home in England and visiting family in West Ukraine BUT we did visit the The Royal Botanic Gardens at PAMPLEMOUSSES (means Grapefruit in French, I was told). Daniel advised us to cross the road and walk 300-400 meters down the road until you reach the Bus Stop. Best to check your Bus Number & Times before going. Cost you Rs50 approx, less than £1 each way (some taxi drivers will charge you up to Rs 800 each and say I've Just Saved Your Life but omit to say That They've Just Fleeced You). OKAY! We had a very nice pleasant, leisurely walk around the Gardens (90 mins max), I would call it a small-medium PARK. The weather was just right, 25 degrees, sunshine, some clouds and a nice cool breeze. Don't Forget To Take WATER with You. Listening to fellow tourists, one could hire a Car for £27 per day, a lot less for the week. Grand Baie has lots of shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket, is also a few minutes down the same main road from Le Cardinal entrance you go Left Direction. If you go Right then you will end up in TRIOLET. MOST IMPORTANTLY WHEN STAYING AT LE CARDINAL EXCLUSIVE - You will meet RAJ from Ved Holistic Care Centre Ltd giving out his practice leaflets on the Beach or around both Hotel complexes. His 90 minute Personalised Consultation & Treatment Massage IS A MUST massage when you stay at these two Hotels. RAJ is a 3rd Indian Generation, Pioneers in Ayurvedic Therapies & Treatments practicing since 2007 in Triolet, its a 10 minute drive from Le Cardinal, you are picked up and returned to your hotel and the Treatment is BLISS. If we had the money, we would book a regular flight just to visit RAJ and for his Full Body Massage with Hot Stone Therapy, Ayurvedic Steam Bath and Shirodhara. COST: Rs 3000 £50) each. Unbelievable Healing Experience at an Unbelievable Price. Both myself and my wife were relieved of persistent pains, by Raj and his Staff. Q? Would we revisit this location again. The answer I would like to give is a BIG FAT YES but unfortunately, I'm a British 1st Generation Proud Ukrainian and during our 2nd week the Rashist (Muskovites) Evil Language could be heard on the stretch of beach up from us. Thank God they were staying in the confines of the Spa Casuarina Hotel and NOT at Le Cardinal. If you decide to stay at Le Cardinal at Trox aux Bitches - You Won't Be Disappointed.
