The private beach is stunning, with white sand and great waves, and the three pools are ideal for families. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Service in particular is severely lacking. Overall cleanliness is questionable, and the resort falls far short of its once-great reputation. Make sure you are fully self-sufficient without having to rely on service or dining options, and lowering your expectations if you decide to stay here. Room issues: We apparently got the newly refurbished rooms, but they were also quite old. Bathtub wasnt working but it had stains anyway, and no towels were provided despite two calls, and the paid extra bed only arrived after multiple follow-ups, with staff even questioning if we really paid for it. Returning at 7pm, soaking wet and cold, we found both still missing and had to call again. Finally only arrived around 8pm, dusty with cobwebs but we were exhausted by then. Service Issues: The reservation process was frustrating, with conflicting info between the website and staff who seemed indifferent (via email). There was no doorman or staff at teh entrance, and the chaotic pick-up/drop-off area resulted in cars blocking each other. Check-in was painfully slow, with only two counters open during peak hours, and staff struggled with basic English. Check-out was equally disorganised, with yet another staff claiming we hadn’t paid for the extra bed despite proof of full payment. They even took a photo of our online receipt, indicating it wasn’t recorded in their system, further reflected poor management. Dining Disasters: Breakfast was ridiculously chaotic. The spread was okay with mainly local cuisines, but staff clearly couldn’t handle the crowd with uncleared tables, empty food trays, malfunctioning coffee machines, and insufficient utensils. Restaurants closed earlier than advertised, and in-room dining trays were left outside overnight without covers. By morning, food remnants were scattered everywhere, presumably dragged by animals. Location: The hotel is a 45-minute drive from Kota Kinabalu, with poorly lit, bumpy roads leading to the property. Again, while the beach and pools are fantastic, the remote location adds to the challenges.

The check in was simple and quick. The room was ready when we arrived but upon close examination the floor looked it needed a thorough mopping. The supplies were all there but the coffee and tea was bare minimal of two packets each. The entertainment facility was bad. The instructions were very unclear. A call to the operator requesting help went nowhere as the IT help never appeared to help us pair our phones so we can watch movies. The breakfast was the norm for Malaysian standard. This was the last of the big resorts we have stayed in Sabah it was not up to standard with the rest but still worth the money they charged. Good beach waves were very strong. Nice to walk along the beach in term of feel second only to Rasa Ria’s beach.
