Just finished 4 night stay at the fabulous FS. All expectations were exceeded. The room, 402, was massive and very well appointed. The buggy system always worked great to scoot around such a large resort. The very large beach offered stunning, panoramic views and we felt as though we were on a deserted island. I don't think the hotel was that crowded during our Mon-Fri stay, but the property is so large, I can't imagine feeling cramped in any way. All restaurants were great. The staff is the friendliest staff that my wife and I have ever encountered. We were treated like royalty, and we are just peons. This was our first time on Langkawi, debated at great length where to stay. I was somewhat concerned with the few negative comments about FS, but I have always had great FS experience and thus went with my gut--a great decision. This resort is patterned after Hualalai FS on Oahu, and it shows--in all the good ways. Currently writing this from The Datai at a more southern location on the island. Totally different experience as it is in a rain forrest. They are both truly 5 star and you cannot go wrong with either one--just check out the websites and pics to see which one fits your fancy as they are different.

The hotel is at the North Eastern part of Langkawi about a 40 minute car ride fro the airport close to the Kilim Geo Forest. It is set on a 1.5 km beach front facing the Andaman Sea with incredible views. I stayed in a renovated villa on the western end of the property. The room was new and well furnished and we had our own outdoor pool facing the ocean. Bicycles were provided to move around the huge grounds. There is also a very efficient buggy service that can scoot you around. There are many restaurant choices but I must single out the most incredible dosai breakfast that was prepared by Chef Balwant. He is heIming a new Indian restaurant that is just opening in the hotel. I would come back to this hotel just for that ! The hotel has facilities to take up all your time from yoga sessions to a well equipped gym, a tennis court, comprehensive water sports facilities , a kids club to even a games room filled with every teenagers dream. I would recommend visit to the mangrove forest which is a UNESCO geo park with the hotel's knowledgeable guides which we did previously. The spa massage was great and the service excellent. A wonderful stay in a mature resort with some parts needing a refurbishment which is already underway. Kudos to the management and staff who made our stay so pleasant and memorable !

We stayed at villa 901 from the beginning to the middle of november . The hotel is one of the most expensive on the island ,so the restaurants are but it is worth every cent . The internal communication and organization is top . The room and bathroom is very big top furnished with outdoor shower and whirlpool and in front oft the terasse a huge garden . There is fresh fruit and water every day and the room service does not come at any time but at desired times . The private hotel beach is huge , 1.8km,clean , is cleared of flotsam several times a day with a tractor . The villas are spread over the entire area under palm trees in the green . If it is too far to walk , you get bicycles or call a buggy that comes within a few minutes and takes you wherever you want . Since we were there at the beginning of november , in my opinion the best time, low season , at the end of the rainy season , the hotel was only very moderately visited, we had the pools and beach mostly to ourselves . Breakfast buffet top , many types of fruit and juices prepared or mixed as desired , many different breakfast pastries and several types of bread and everything else you need . There were only 2 restaurants , the third was just renovated. The food in both was very good and of a very high standard , I have never eaten such well prepared fish . The bar is located directly on the beach and offers all standard drinks as well as cocktails created by them . The service was generally very good, especially the personal address by name almost everywhere. We travel a lot and at a fairly high level and everything was right here . We felt completely comfortable here and will certainly be happy to come back.

Langkawi is so dear to our heart. Unfortunately our first experience with 4 seasons was not not perfect. On arrival driver was late Nowhere to be seen. Other 5 stars resorts were alll ready. He turned up later. But was standing far away. But he was friendly and chatty. When we reached the lobby. One single staff received us. With no assistance whatsoever with our luggage. Reception was a big disappointment. Saw many staff but all were doing their own thing behind the counter. We were given a briefing. Welcoming drinks were nice tho. Rooms were huge, very clean and all amenities provided. Just need a bit of renovation. The resort in general is beautiful but certain areas look tacky and old. When we arrive from our trip to town for some shopping unlike other resorts or even below 5 star hotels there’s no bell boys or door men to help with our bags etc etc. Just seems dead. Breakfast was ok. Pastries was divine however. Staff was excellent.Need to hv fresh blended juice counter and more selection of ala carte choices. The dining experience in all restaurants was perfect and the staff should be promoted Beach was a big disappointment. Rubbish and even sharp objects were scattered . Nobody was hanging around the deck chairs to set them up. Nobody to attend to us to even serve drinks etc.
