The Westin Langkawi is tucked away in a peaceful and secluded part of the island. We visited here in October, likely the quietest time to visit because of the stubborn wet season, which persists until some time in November. It was really quiet. You could argue it was slightly devoid of atmosphere, but I enjoyed being away from everyone and the rest of the world. I stayed here with my family for 7 nights. For some reason unknown, we were upgraded to room 1310, called the Renewal Suite. All we can say to the Westin is thank you. Thank you because whilst we aim to stay in 5 star hotels, we rarely splurge extra on a room upgrade. This was an upgrade and more: a two bedroom sea view suite with a huge balcony, two bathrooms (with a bath and monsoon shower no less) and a sprawling view out to sea. It’s not very often we’re speechless but we were at the time. It was truly an experience that we’ll never forget. Side note: Monkeys visited us on the grand balcony twice and always in the morning. The macaques are rather horrid and aggressive, but the langurs are comparatively mild-mannered but you should remain cautious. The resort is big, with lovely, borderline breathtaking views across the bay with a countless number of boats going by. It’s so big in fact that the hotel offers a complimentary buggy service via the concierge, which is very handy if you don’t wish to walk to the spa or to the nearby St Regis. The beach here isn’t the most attractive, but it’s even less attractive from the St Regis. One snapshot of the muddy sand would suggest you were at Blackpool and not Langkawi. I can only assume it was because of the time of year. Food is wonderful here, though the varied menu is slightly pricey. The curries on offer are sublime, some of the tastiest I’ve ever had. Service was solid and everyone acknowledges or greets you with a smile. They really do go out of their way to help you. Please see separate reviews for the Heavenly Spa. I would definitely return to explore more of Langkawi, with aspirations next time to stay at the Datai. However, that’s often out of our price range, so we would certainly consider a return to the Westin. I personally wouldn’t bother with the St Regis - it’s smaller, fussier, less attractive, seemed dated and of course is more expensive. The Westin offers enough of what you’re likely looking for.

Stayed at Westin Langkawi for 2 nights and the room was having partial sea view which was quite fantastic! Check in was smooth and staff was courteous! The Resort is spread in large area and we had a visit by battery cart! Rooms were spacious too! Had Vegetarian dinner at the restaurant and were satisfied with the food taste! Though it is a premium Hotel but offers Luxurious services at better prices!! Would like to visit again!!

What a beautiful hotel. We were lucky enough to stay in one of the villas on the beach and it was truly stunning. The villa itself was beautifully finished and very spacious, the pool and outside area clean and comfortable and, again, spacious and the view - wow! The beach (which was swept everyday), the sea, the islands - better than we even hoped for. The only downsides are that this hotel does not have a club lounge and the one free drink per night is from a small selection and definitely was not up to the same standard as the same drink if you were paying for it and the restaurant selection isn’t great (the menus are fine but maybe a couple more restaurants to choose from would have been nice). Saying that though, you can easily walk to the St Regis next door and use their restaurants. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and we will definitely be going back.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. To be greeted every morning at breakfast by the happy smiling and helpful staff is lovely A special mention for Emmy. Her happy greeting every morning made our stay very special and she couldn't do any more to make our stay more pleasant than it was. She is a very special asset to the hotel. .So looking forward to our next visit in 2025 and meeting up again with all our "friends"at this wonderful hotel .
