“Surprisingly Good, but not perfect. Very good value for money.”

Good We liked the location, not on the front but only 500 metres from the Riverside. Doesn't have busy roads around it which is good for kids. Gym is also very good. Breakfast good Spacious Hotel. Rooms good, although shower wasn't hot. Improvements Check in was slow. Was upgraded to Executive Suite but that only had a King Size when we purposely booked family room for 3 of us. Had to sort out which was pain. But overall we would definitely stay here again. You can get a double or twin from 250MYR which is good value for money.

You come to expect a certain level of comfort at a Pullman property, and this one does not have it. The grand lobby is large, and cold, although the welcoming in true East Malay style is warm. I never saw one person in the bar or the pool. The first room I was given smelt strongly of smoke which they tried to rectify by offering to spray deodoriser. The smell was heavy in the curtains. The furniture is damaged, walls and bathroom are are dirty. Breakfast was good, but they ran out of Yoghurt and were unable to replenish for our stay. Not a big deal. They do not cater for any dietary requests light Gluten Free. Most places in East Malaysia do not but you would expect more from a Pullman.

For what is being marketed as a ‘premier’ brand the Pullman in Kuching is not quite living up to the billing. Rooms are spacious, simple are reasonably clean, but things are a bit tired around the edged, with some flaking paintwork and maintenance issues that have not been addressed. The standard of amenities in the room is also pretty low, certainly not up to high standards. Other services within the hotel are quite limited. The lobby cafe was missing several things and services was quite poor. No spa and the wellness centre was not open. Also noted a number of items in the gym were out for maintenance. Breakfast quality also quite poor if you have Western tastes. It’s all small things but they add up - it’s a shame because the location is great. Staff are generally friendly, but really not terribly effective. Overall pretty ordinary really.

“In need of refurbishment ”

Rooms and baths were old and in need of refurbishment. Bathrooms were not clean and had mold stains. The upside : Good location and walking distance to Top Spot seafood place. There is a supermarket, karaoke and food court located just downstairs. Breakfast spread was quite good too
