Amman Marriott Hotel

“Great for business and leisure ”

The hotel is of high class, nice exterior, better interior with a great ambience. The gym is awesome, allowed me to reboot my training juices after 3 weeks in Gaza lifting chairs for weights 😂. The proximity to the office is an added advantage as it is only 7-10 mins walk.

“Good Choice in Amman”

We stayed twice at the Amman Marriott recently. Our room was comfortable albeit a little dated. We enjoyed the lovely outdoor pool. There is an indoor pool and spa too but we did not try either. Breakfast buffet was vast with omelette/egg station and staff were very congenial. All evening meals in the restaurants were excellent. Our Titanium Marriott Bonvoy status was acknowledged with an upgraded room, a fruit basket gift and access to the Club Lounge. Club lounge is quiet and comfortable but mostly offers tea, coffee and small snack items only. Smoking is allowed in some of the restaurant areas so if you are a non-smoker check with the staff about seating. We liked the menu in the cigar bar (steak house) and the staff allowed us to order from the menu but sit elsewhere.

“Swimming Inaccessible”

I chose the Marriott because it had an indoor pool, but it turns out it was age restricted to 16 and above. This might be a selling point to some, but it meant my son, who was looking forward to swimming, was excluded. They also told us the pool opened at 8 a.m., but when we showed up at 8:45 only to be turned away, they were also cleaning the pool. The Marriott should be more straightforward about the pool’s inaccessiblity to children, and should do the cleaning during non-open hours. I also was disappointed that the room we had booked for three (parents and 11-yr-old), was not set up with extra towels nor did they offer us a roll-away bed. They did bring extra towels quickly when we asked. Also there was a wedding at the hotel as we arrived. We were exhausted from a difficult travel day, which is not a fault of the hotel, but all I wanted to do was get in and get to bed, and we had to wait in long security lines and cede our car to a valet parking service because the hotel garage was full. Had I known That fact alone, I would have booked elsewhere. Add to it the swimming pool issue, and I would say this was a very disappointing stay.
